  • Cuaba Pyramide EL

Working on a Saturday night usually means you can treat yourself to a nice cigar.

My Old Man picked these up many months ago on his travels and gave me one to try. He seemed to like them very much. I've never had a Cuaba of any sort before so I figured, what the hell, now's as good a time as any.

    Yuck.

This cigar sucked. Bad flavor, bad burn, just fuckin' bad across the board. My mouth tastes terrible. Gonna wash it out with some rum and an '05 SD4.

    Blecch.

No idea if this is what Cuaba tastes like, and I know it's just one cigar, but I for one am not looking forward to trying another one anytime soon. Just bitter and lacking in complexity.

Problem is, now I have to try another one. They can't all possibly suck this bad.

As usual, just one guy's opinion, and apologies to anyone who loves them, but MAN.

i had one in the summer. The burn was all over the place. I found it overpowering but it was late morning on an empty stomach. I will try again.

What a shame Femi, and like DrewM puts, surprising that is was that bad. I'm guessing an overly tight draw and grassy flavours? From limited experience (although a fan of Cuaba) the bads ones can taste plain shite

I haven't had these Cuabas, but I wouldn't say this is what they are generally like that.

Smoked 2 Exclusivos this week and although not terribly complex, they were pleasant with an aromatic herb undertone (reminded me almost of basil ) and burned great.

Sounds like you had a bad one...

Well worth giving these a try again as usually a great cigar...

              Cheers, HabanoSy

I bought a couple of these in summer last year, but before I smoked them I read this post and they have been sitting in the humi ever since. Glad they get better with age. Might give one a go soon...

I've had a few of these and haven't found a good one yet. Funny thing is- they have all looked gorgeous (dark and oily).

I do like the Divino and over Christmas and New Year had a couple of flavour filled Diademas.

I love Cuaba but have to say I didn't enjoy the LE. That's why I sold the box remainder to a mug on the forum.....can you say CIV anyone....only joking Dale. Just not to my taste that's all....

Being an EL perhaps they just need laying down for longer? Thanks to this thread I'll be putting mine to the back of the singles drawer & give it a yr or two
