  • Advice on a sellection for a gift

Hello, I plan to buy 9 cigars, 3 of different brand each, for my father as a Christmas present. I am not much in cigars so I relied on advice from friends and my own research online. I have chosen the following 3 cigars/brands:

    • Davidoff 2000
    • Cohiba Ciglo IV
    • Avo Uvezian Domaine 10

As I understand these are considered pretty mild and creamy?

What do you think of these? Any advice on further options? There is a relatively good selection of Cuban (12 brands) and Dominican (6 brands) brands in the shop around here. Thanks in advance for your opinion.

    Hi Nikola,

I can tell you from first hand that dads love cigars as presents

The cigars on the selection you have are good. Davidoff and AVO would be on the mild side, the Cohiba is stronger and possibly the best brand you can get your father!

Do you know how long and how often does your father smoke cigars? If he is a seasoned smoker, then you might opt for a selection of Cubans. Also, do you know if he has a humidor? If he does, try to take a sneak peak in it give us an idea of whats in it and then we would be able to suggest certain cigars.

      Detective!

Agree with Yiorgos on this.Do some detective work and see if you can establish what is in his humidor (if he does indeed have one).

This will give you a better idea of his likes/dislikes.If he is not a regular smoker then you could do worse than think about something from the Cuban Montecristo and Romeo & Juliet brands.

Both of these are relatively mild and should do the job.

Thanks for the advice. He has one but I have no access to it, its hidden in his office...He is a regular smoker but prefers milder types eventhough he smokes Cubans (Monte Cristo and Romeo & Juliet as mentioned here). The shop was out of Avos so I bought a matured Macanudo Golden Label cigar instead.

        Thank you for your time.
