  • Another slight concern ....

I'm having to keep some small packs in the tup. No real room in the humidors without turning them into box-presses. Lee mentioned card packs absorbing moisture, now I'm worried about getting 'soggy' gars too. The Partagas are Tubos so I'm hoping they will store alright, The HDM Epicure 2's aint. Wondering now if they will be OK while they settle in?
If you want to, you can.

Be careful with humidification in the Tupperware. They are air tight so if the cigars are properly cared for you may not need a humidity pack.

Yup, humidity in tupperware can get too high. keep an eye on it and you can always leave the lid open a little.

          Hint of the day
Take the lid off and drill a 1/8 inch hole in the center of it. I've done this and it helps regulate the humidity ! Humidors are not suppose to be air tight,a little breathing will help the cigars with their aging. If you find the humidity dropping to fast then put a piece of tape over the hole and remove it when necessary . Hope this helps.

Actually, some people would disagree. There are many serious cigar collectors and smokers that utilize airtight storage, going as far as saran wrapping or vacuum sealing their boxes of cigars and placing those inside their humidors for long-term aging. Oxygen does speed up the chemical processes involved in aging cigars, but for the long-term, it does more harm than good. If your cigars are properly humidified, in an airtight environment they should need no additional source of humidity.
