  • Small hole in a cigar.....what next

Just had a few cigars given me from someone who has packed up, but while scanning them noticed one of them (which I must add is tubed) has a small very circular (pin prick) hole in it. I assume this is the dreaded Tobbacco beatle?

I wont be putting this one in my humidor infact keeping it well away, but what are my options can this one be rescued via the freezer method, should I freeze the lot even though the holed one is tubed?

Yes, freeze the lot. If only for your own peace of mind it's worth it!

Sorry to hear about the hole.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

This has happened to me before with tubed smokes. I also have found on more than one ocassion that the wrappers on tubed cigars have been damaged. I no longer buy tubed cigars for these reasons. Just me being paranoid.

I would freeze the lot for sure. It is not recommended to smoke cigars that have signs of the beetle, but I still did. I am not one to waste a smoke. I had a hell of a time with draw issues however, which was expected.

I forgot to add .... round up any bags or boxes you brought them home in and get them out of the house. Tobacco beetles can also take up residence in packed food stuffs, spices and the like.
If you want to, you can.

                Y'know

To paraphrase the (alleged) Ziggy von Freudmeisters famous cigar quote: Sometimes a hole is just a hole.
