  • Diplomaticos No.4

I decided to review this smoke as i know some of you want to pick these up as they are an endangered species. This stick comes from an ENE 09 box so these are young.

Appearance: A dark oily wrapper with a few visible veins. This looks like a strong smoke.

Cold Draw:Notes of honey, citrus and peat come through on this smoke.

First third:Again the honey is the dominant taste on this smoke.its medium bodied at the moment.

Second third:Honey starts to give way to some spice and mossy notes. This cigar is getting stronger!

Final third:The honey is back and has taken over with some spice notes. It becomes overwhelmingly strong. Not for beginners!

Overview:I am glad to have a box of these as they will only get better with time.Time is something they surely need to allow the final third to calm. This cigar burned and drew perfect for me.I would give these about 2 years to calm and let the flavors mature. These smokes are Great with Grand Mariner especially the 150 and Louis Alexandre.Well i hope you all enjoyed my review.Sorry for no pics.Maybe next time

      Nice review!

I have a box of these with the same date, ENE 09. I smoked one over the summer with about 6 months on it and enjoyed it immensely.

I did not notice notes of honey at the time, but it was a strong little smoke no doubt. I may have to give another a go and see how they have evolved.

I've gone through a few boxes of the 02 Dip 4's and they are great everyday cigars!

One of my favorite cigars and favorite lines.

It is a shame they will be soon discontinued.

Great review, I have then occasionally & just think they are tastier than the Monte version. If one had to go it should have been the ubiquitous Monte No4, the Heiniken of the cigar world.
Sit back & wait for the flack from MNo4Lovers

No flack from this direction, never found Monte No.4's that special , but Dippy's; though perhaps a bit more unreliable in quality, have the flavour edge in my book.

Seen there are some offers around at the moment on Dippy no.4's as stockists, dump discontinued lines. Might get a box in before they are gone for good!

Nice review. The only Dippy I have smoked was a No2 and I found it plesent but a bit mild for my tastes.

Good review. The Dippy 5 is my only experience of the brand. But I throughly enjoyed the smoke and it is on my box wish list.
