I would like to suggest that you disable the Quick Reply "QR" button.

When you're reading down a thread and one bloke posts:

Took a cruise on HMS Bollocks on Thursday

Then a couple of posties later, you read:

Shagged the wife 6 times last night.

And then, a few posties further down, you get:

Did you have fun?

You have no idea which post he's referring to.

If the post we're replying to is automatically quoted, the confusion disappears. Yes, it would make for longer threads, especially if members are too fooking lazy to edit the quoted material down to just the pertinent parts. But it's easier to ignore than to guess.

Anyway, just migh too sense...

Why not just click Reply then?

[EDIT] I mean Quote, of course. If Quick Reply is disabled, it won't mean that people will quote automatically.

The point being that if QR is disabled, the only choices left are QUOTE and MQ (Multi-Quote) so, in effect, people will be quoting automatically.

I've always used Post Reply down the bottom left...
