  • Possible Herf In Kent Soon, Like

I'm on a week's holiday the week after next and wondered if anyone would like to meet up somewhere central in Kent - Maidstone, say? - for an evening herf.

Don't know where to recce over that way currently, and wonder if it might be better to wait til Easter time as it is still ball-breakingly cold?...

    Just a thought.

Unfortunately I am not in the country then Bry, but I am sure you will get plenty of interest mate.

Hope it goes OK on the day.

        Good train connections, mate.

I think there are quite a few Kent-ites on here. This is a big County. It's a pain to drive across if you can't use the M20 or M2 so it would make sense to group in the middle. Sooner or later.

Cheers, Whisk. Nice to see you clicking on from somewhere no doubt exotic!

There's a wine and cigar emporium on Rochester High Street which has an outdoor area that could be very civilised in warm weather, too. Again, it's too cold currently.

I'm sure Stogiedawg (in exile) would join in on this.

It would be interesting if Kent members said where they are based.

        I'll start.

I'd consider it, but quite a trek for me. It would be ideal if it was in Tonbridge Wells tbh, I think a lot more of us can make that. Might be a bit of a distance for you though.

Sadly unable chaps due to the logistics of it, but have a good one if you do.

I could make the Hotel du Vin if it's in my holiday time. That would be OK for me. I could bhajee a rustic, sexy P2 in transit, too.

If the date works I'll be up for a little trip down. I think any venue needs to be weather proof though.

                    Agreed, Monk.

I think I'm feeling horny to herf because of the leather and smoke of the Ajay boys yesterday that I couldn't make.

I'll also have some non-pupil-chewed time when my speech might be adult-coherent. Five or six running weeks of SIR SIR SIR and I'm completely shagged.

I'm near Faversham and I'm sure I can make wherever. We will probably need heat and/or cover for the next few months but I am very much up for a good puff.

I am up for it. HdV in Tunbridge Wells was mentioned, it is warmer, but not WARM, not a horrid idea.

I'm down in Kent on the 15th and 16th. If anyone fancied it I could certainly get across Royal Tunbridge Wells on tuesday evening.

We normally go away to stay somewhere for a couple of days over February half term (wife's a teacher).

Last night whilst watching David Dimbleby's 7 Ages of Brittain, my wife said she'd never been to Canterbury & would like to go sometime.

I will be watching this thread with interest ;-)
