  • Mr.B Review - Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne Robusto

    5" 54g

I like Perdomo, like, really like Perdomo. If you're a CC smoker, your Cohibas are probably 'the best' right? Highly acclaimed smokes, would only smoke them on a special occassion, or when the situation permits? Certainly not an everyday smoke (Unless you're stinkin rich). Well I love NC's, and Perdomo are my Cohibas, well probably not. I've not tried EVERY NC brand so I can't give it that title, but definately a well acclaimed smoke in my book. Perhaps a good solid brand like H.Upmann? Yeah that sounds good.

I respect Perdomo as a brand, they're really consistent and ooze of quality. see; Oliva.

This particular smoke, the 10th anniversary, came in a Orange cellophane wrapper, quite eye catching. The band does a good job of making it look ornate, and the conneticut shade wrapper just compliments it. Look at the picture, it just looks damn fine.

I lit it up and off I went, big pleasant smoke clouds and easy draw, just what Dr Stogieson ordered. I puffed and puffed and found some cute little flavors. I got a cereal-esque tone most of the way through. Normally conneticuts are my go to cigars, as they're easy going , light and creamy. Well this smoke certainly was, but it was doing alot of extra work. It felt like I was smoking something more than a conneticut. It was hard to explain, it was like it had a spell on me. Maybe I am bigging it up a bit too much there but it definately was nice.

The burn was exceptional, this refused to NOT burn equally. It got to a point where I tried to make it burn unevenly, and it always corrected itself, it was like it had a hive mind? Not that i'm complaining, I wish every bloody cigar did that. But this gave a fight, and fought a good fight.

A nice pleasant ash, characteristic of a good quality NC smoke I've found. Brilliant white and solid, how it should be.

Other than interesting flavors throughout and I little more complexity than your normaly conneticut shade, I have nothing more to offer. It was good, it drew well, tasted well and smelt well. What more could you want from your cigar? For it to automatically fix itself if the burn got uneven? Well now that's just asking too much.

8/10 - Well behaved, Good draw, Appetising appearance, Cool cellophane presentation, Perdomo rocks my socks. Everything I wanted!

Nice job. I'm glad you reviewed this, I've just added some of these to my humi as part of a perdomo sampler.

Another stick to add to the NC revolution.

            NC revolution

Where, where ! In the event there is a NC revolution some one put my name And JDawgs up for general ! LMAO I am so glad that most who tryed NC find a place in their humidors for them. Just as I have found a place in mine for CC. Enjoy gentleman and theres always something to learn in the cigar community!

Working from home today, so I thought I'd sneak one in while the wife was out. Her name was Mandy and she lives next door.
              Anyway,
Had one of these champagne robustos in the humi from a recent sampler and Mr B's recent review above was still fresh in my mind. I dont normally smoke that early in the morning but as I was disturbed from my beauty sleep at 4:30am this morning by work it felt like the middle of the afternoon, so off I went.
Just as Mr B said it was a great smoke, good ash, easy draw which was light and fluffy, nice and creamy. Overall I wouldnt be too upset if there were a few more in the humi. If your partial to an NC and you've not tried any of the perdomo's then this would be a great starter.
Perfect for a morning smoke (god damn you G, you were right again!)

Agree 100% there. It's a bit on the mild side for my regular rotation but great as a mild beginner with coffee on a cool crisp morning.

Sounds pretty good! Why only 8 out 10?

I quite like these myself from time to time, they are very nice. but it's still an NC and I guess a higher score would be reserved for something like a padron 1926
