  • My modest collection

    Hi there.

I've been reading these fora for a few weeks and have finally plucked the courage to show my humble stash. I have only recently got into cigars after a friend bought a pack of Hamlets (yeah, I know...) at a golf course. I bought a few online and then read I need something to keep 'em in. But the humidor looked sad being nearly empty, so I filled it up.

I bought a collection of different smokes on Cgars and (probably down to what I chose) much preferred the NC's, and I've kinda stuck with them.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Congratulations on a great forum - they're few and far between.

There's 48 in there: La Rica Churchills, Oliva series V Torpedos, Chinchalero Picadillos and Chinchalero Novillos. Not the most expensive of sticks but I like 'em. I've ordered some Spanish cedar to cut into dividers to fit between the different types, but for now that'll have to do. Just going out to try one of those 66RG Novillos (only discovered them from a link on here).

We all start somewhere Skins! And it looks like you are headed in the right direction

That Oliva V is a fine smoke...have not tried the rest but if you like them that's all that matters. Smoke what you like, and like what you smoke!

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride...(oh, and think about getting a larger humi in the not so distant future It's happened to all of us )
Trying is the first step toward failure.

Excellent start to the end of your wallet and finances there! The V Torps look lovely.

Nice to see you bought a humidor for your little treasures too: that's what they're four skins

            Welcome aboard Skins.

What is it about a humi? They always seem to be able to draw me in and make me want to dive in and try one.

Currently sitting outside in the sun with a Ristretto and one of the Novillos. It's a nice smoke with good draw and burning evenly. I'm sharing a box with a mate but I may just keep the lot.

A very nice starting point there Skins. It's a tidier looking humi than mine (and, dare I say it, larger... ).

I'm just trying to sight a bigger one so that I can buy a couple of boxes.

They are too. I had some when I first started. All smoked up now!

                    Welcome Skins.

One bad thing - it's burning way too quickly (is it rude to go get another?).

                      I think this one's going to be a lip-burner.

                        Hello and welcome
It's not too late you know, to turn back and find some other, less expensive, less time-consuming, obsessive compulsive disorder to devote your time and resources to....
Ah well, don't say you weren't warned.

There is only one 'Hamlet' worth your time . . . . and he got buried, NOT 'cremated'!

Glad to hear you've 'turned to the dark side' though . . . i.e. 'Proper' seegars.
All we need to do now is wean you off the NC's and on to CC's (the superior product - sit down and shush all you NC heathens), and . .(imagine this next bit in an evil, wheezy voice) . . 'soon your journey towards the 'dark side' will be complete'!

                        Muwah-ha-ha-ha-ha (cough, splutter) ha!
