You actually met this legendary character? I thought he was only a folk tale being perpetrated by UKCF moderators. Can't wait to hear all about him. Is he truly devilishly handsome?

        Waidaminit...

        Did you say "rokkitsci?"

        Oh.

        Never mind.

So here goes - I was shattered when I got in last night so I wasn't able to write this post as planned. I apologise in advance to both all readers of this post and to George himself as I am writing this from memory and there will be things I forget to put in this post that should be mentioned but I hope to get everything – it may also be long and bloated but I will be writing the memories as they come out of my head.

Wednesday morning: I was sitting on the porch with my parents, as I am staying at their/our place, awaiting the arrival of the famed Rokkit Scientist. He drives past after having navigated through the maze that is the area that we are in and sticks his hand up to wave. Pulls up, jumps out, and wanders over greeting me with a hand shake - I introduce him briefly to my parents and we hold polite conversation for 5 or so minutes and then we depart.

We stop just down to road to punch in the GPS "co-ordinates" for direction to the daughter of Rokkitsci. Preparing to depart - we realise there is something missing - there’s no smoking happening and as explained to me in an earlier PM from the good man himself - smoking is not just allowed in his smokemobile - its encouraged. So out cometh our travel humidors – I have two cigars for George as a gift – one from myself and one sent over by Big_T; Montecristo No.2 and Partagas Serie P No.2 – The non Cuban versions of course :-). George thanks me profusely and transfers them into his humidor and looks at what I have remaining in my humidor – a San Cristobal and a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990, both of which I had purchased at the local smoke shack here in Orlando mentioned in another post. George then proceeded to show the collection in his humidor – 2 Arturo Fuentes (I think – so much happened that day and they didn’t get smoked) , 2 Padron 64 Anniversario, 2 Cohiba Siglo VI (The non Cuban of course :-)) and two don kiki brown (those who have received bombs by this fine gentleman will likely know of this cigar as that weird lookin’ small one).

We lit up the Don Kiki Brown to start – a short fun smoke that lasted perfectly until we got to the house of his daughters – all the while conversing nonstop on matters ranging from how either of us started smoking cigars to the industries that we work in.

On arrival we entered into his daughter’s house and I was introduced to the fine young lady that is his daughter Katie and her dog – Richard (who was great fun and just seems to love everybody!). I was handed a beer – and this is where it began…

About 15 minutes after my arrival, a knock at the door signaled that of a friend of Katie’s that would be joining us for the evening – Jaime. We sat down in the garden (for it is Florida – lovely weather we are having right now…..) with our respective drinks and chatted and chatted and chatted. Beers were renewed and shots were handed out (these people know how to drink – when they have shots – it comes in a half pint glass!). George decided that we should smoke the Padron, so we lit these bad boys and carried on having a great time in conversation and enjoying the great cigars. Time slipped away at an increasing speed until we were running late... then we left about half hour later. We went to grab some dinner at a local place where we had a choice of sandwiches or wraps. Mine was the 5th Avenue which consisted of about 5 layers of food and bread and was amazing. We carried on drinking at the restaurant including more beers and shots. Then over to the venue of the band that we were seeing that evening (the time by now was about 9PM) where we saw them play for the next two hours (with more drinks of course (this time red wine)). What an amazing band – the drummer was a 17 year old kid that had stepped in as the band’s drummer had broken his wrist two weeks before – absofuckinglutely amazing. The kid drummed like he had been in the band for 20 years. The bassist – he was having so much fun he had the look of “I don’t give a monkeys what you fuckers are doing over there on that side of the stage….. I’m havin’ fun here!” on his face. Overall – a great band that was a pleasure to watch and I would love to see them again – great choice George.

Finally back to the house where Jaime had to leave as she had work the next day and myself, George and Katie sat down outside with some more drinks, Siglo Vis and carried on having conversation with some guitar playing mixed in.

At 1AM my ride home arrived, unfortunately, and I had to depart after having such a great day. George handed me a huge care package that he had intended to post to me, but thought it easier that I take it then, and we said goodbye and wished each other the best.

I had a great day – one that I will never forget – and I look forward to the opportunity to meet with George again. Thank you George for your generosity on all accounts and thank you for showing me such a great time. It was also an honor to meet your daughter and her friend who were both just amazingly fun to be with!

I will end this post with a quote from George that made me chuckle intensely and still does (I made a note of a few lines from that evening – none of which I can legally or with sound mind, publish on this here forum). As we started our drinking, before the concert – “We need to fucked up enough that…… 2 hours later we’ll still be fucked up!”

I read this damn epistle through 6 times just to make sure and in nary a single one o' them readings did I find the "devilishly handsome" part.

                          WTF?

From my perspective, the travelog(ue?) was adequate; however, James did leave out one critically important observation. We spent just about 10 hours together discussing virtually everything under the sun (and, subsequently, the moon as well) and during that entire time, not once -- nyet, nary a single time -- did he ever slip up and talk regular. Damned if he didn't do that limey accent absofuckinglutingly perfect the whole entire time! Astounding! It's almost as if you people learn to talk that way virtually from birth. I was agog (p'raps even two gogs).

I do feel the need to add one slight detail that the lad omitted which I feel to be important to the understanding of the evening, however. Adjunct to our non-gourmet, yet tasty and filling dinner, the beverage of choice was beer. But that was not our only libation. The beer was for refeshment, but we found occasion to celebrate several toasts (not a single one of which I can recall) with a concoction introduced to both James and myselves for the first time by our lovely lady companions, called... (wait for it)... Purple Pussy Puckers. Yup. For real. A mixture of Grape Pucker Schnapps, grape soda, and something called Everclear Alcohol, which comes in either 75.5% (151 proof) or 95% (180 proof) alcohol. For comparative purposes, please note that hard liquor for children, such as rum or vodka, typically contains 40%?60% alcohol (80?120 proof). Needless to say that by the time we arrived at the show, I think we had achieved our goal of being sufficiently inebriated to maintain that condition for the duration (helped out with the addition of a few glasses of wine that the venue had available for purchase, the quality of which I ordinarily would not consider washing my feet with, but with sufficient alcoholic content to achieve our desired result).

I'm told a good time was had by all.
