  • Must Try NC's?

Given the vast range of NC's can some wise afficionardo's out there recommend some must try sticks? I've stuck to CC so far and would like to widen the field as it were.

Just have a look through some of the old posts in the NC section. theres hundreds of suggestions. Nubs or Rocky patel is a good starter.

All the above are intriguing even great smokes, but if I had to pick just a few I would probably go for:

            Illusione Epernay
            Alec Bradley Tempus
            Padron (1926 or 1964 series)
            Oliva V
            Rocky Patel Old Worlde Reserve

Probably Tatuaje and Fuente should get a mention as well, but I haven'rtsmoked enough to make up my mind yet.

Have you tried the illusione CG4 Alberto? It seemed a lot more flavoursome than the Epernay

                Hi Lee,

I have had a couple of CG4s and it is definitely stronger than the Epernay, but the Epernay is probably the most elegant cigar cigar I have smoked, Cubans included.

It is a medium smoke and contains no Ligero whatsoever, but the aroma is incredible for me: cocoa, honey and roses are the main flavors I get plus loads of other notes and they all work together, and very sharp and clean which is what I mea with elegant. Not to mention construction, which is impressive as for the CG4 too.

If you like your cigars powerful, this probably will leave you cold, but I could smoke Epernay all the time

Talking of elegance - it's a quality Davidoffs have in spades, but they rarely get mentioned on here. For me, the cigar-smoking experience doesn't always have to be all about taste.

Davidoff are one of the few, if not only NC brand I've come across so far that I would ever choose over a CC & in fact did so for my parent's diamond wedding anniversary lunch @ Cliveden a few years back (& occasions don't get much more special than that).

here would be my list :
                        Illusione Epernay
                        la Riqueza (Tatuaje)
Opus X (imho the best NC out there, but a tad expensive)
                        edit: yes and Oliva V
                        also Hemingway Short Story

Have a look at the Chinchalero range. They're such good value that if you like one it's a bonus.

Oliva series V is well worth the extra few quid.

Just what I was going to suggest. I've only tried the Esportivos, but for me they're a great 'everyday' smoke. Got a few different ones sat in my humi waiting too.

For me it would be mostly smaller gauge NC's. the Illusione Epernay Monde Le Petite and Le Elegance would suit. Padron Series Londres I'm already after, and as Eugene say's Davidoff are pretty much up there when it comes to great cigars.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
