  • Cigars? Sure! But what else do you want for Christmas?

I've got a big birthday coming up as well as Christmas. I shall DEFINITELY be getting some good cigars... but I find it hard to focus on what I'd really like.

I thought about another laptop, but then this one has been fitted with a new motherboard and now works without cooking my fingers.

A good muso mate is installing me stacks of up-to-date music writing software as he is endorsed by several keyboard companies. I hope to switch over to controller keyboard plus laptop onstage eventually. I would have paid out for that software for myself, but now don't need to.

I really love cowboy hats / stetsons, so I've been looking through websites for good ones. I was in New York and bought an 'authentic' one about three years ago.

Stetsons suit me. I took to wearing one when my band plays... and then never wanted to take it off!

They can look incongruous and YMCA camp, but I wear mine with style and it makes me feel really good so I don't care. I love to walk out with a fat cigar on in this hat.

I'll go for a black felt stetson this time, I think.

So what would you like for Christmas, folks?

I've put my order in with the wife. Top of the list is:

    Cigars
    Bottle of single malt whisky.

I also like stetsons. Only have one at the moment which I often leave on the rear seat of the car. The wife of course throws her shopping over it and it's looking a bit battered now.

Other than cigars, I have already treated myself to a new Semi-Acoustic guitar and hopefuly a few sticks to try and get the collection going

I do have another ideal christmas gift that I'd like, but I don't think that it would be permitted on the boards as it's somewhat blunt, but to the point lol

You guys make what's on my Christmas list look so tame - I've the Dr Who S4 boxset on my list along with a new briefcase/holder bag thing to put all my school stuff in. At the moment my satchel thingy is more battered than my student's bags!!

I've already been bought my Christmas pressie, though I can't bring it home until my Shotgun Licence comes through . . . . . .

Hubby is wandering how the nice sweet girl he married has turned into a champagne-swilling, gun-toting, cigar-smoking lady?

                          Gun-toting now, hey?...

I'm getting visions of all this as I stroke the checkout basket image of my new stetson on my screen here and wait each day for DHL...

                          A world of pistols.

I had a girlfriend whose stepdad had guns (he was actually a truck driver). When I was taken home to meet the parents the father felt the need to show the young, long haired rocking and rolling boyfriend the gun collection before anything else!

Needless to say I got her pregnant and addicted to crack and crystal meth. I then left her to claim welfare and poll dancing for coppers collected in a pint jar in The Dun Cow pub in Shoreditch. Last I heard she had sold her shocking true story to Take A Break Magazine.

(The first paragraph is true... the second is not quite so honest!)

Good thing you put that disclaimer on there Drew. For a moment there I was a bit scared: that's exactly what happened to me! You must've read the article. But alas, those wild days are long gone for me. Now I'm just a fuddy-dud cigar-smoking, ipod stereo-making, scotch-drinking yankee.
