  • One last hoorrah !!

Well, a long since planned snowboarding trip to Switzerland with some friends coincided with a return to the ranks of the unemployed, so I figured that I should take advantage of one final chance to put a few quality sticks in my humi before reality kicks in and I switch to hamlets...lol. A mighty and ne'er to be repeated haul, methinks

Bloody hell! You must have been given some pay off! That's an impressive severance package... I'm loving the Cohibas and the RyJ Dukes. I'd be interested to know your thoughts of the Dunhills - I had a Dunhill PC on the Walk/herf last year and was not impressed.

      I've just been made redundant.
If I went off and got that lot my missus would have killed me!
Personally I can't think of many better ways of spending it.
A most excellent gathering of Cubas finest.
      I'm sick with jealousy!

              Superb haul there.

I'm gainfully employed and Missus would still have a fit if bought that lot.

Well, I'm just finishing up my second divorce so I'm allowed to make the financial decisions of a teenager again, ha,ha.

As for the 'Dunhill signed series', in my fledgeling cigar days (only 9 months ago) a very generous friend of mine with a very well stocked humi gave me a huge selection of sticks to try and I remember not being impressed by any of the NC's except the said Dunhill's. I was eager to try them again so I lit one up a few days ago and my first impression was mmm, yummy...having said that, the second half of the cigar wasn't quite as enjoyable as the first as it didn't really develop the spiciness that I tend to enjoy. The other cigar that I was eager to try was the 'maduro 5 Genios' as the most unique tasting smoke that my friend gave me was a 'Secretos', it had a sweetness on the lips and tongue that was unlike anything else I had experienced. I plumped for the 'Genios' as I've got to agree with the fairer sex when I say that for me "it's all about the girth" and I couldn't resist lighting one up there and then. The pre-light flavour of that big Cohiba was an absolute delight, it was like a big stick of dark chocolate...mmmm. By about a third of the way down I had decided that it was my favourite cigar experience so far. Unfortunately, I was having to smoke outside, at night, in sub-zero temperatures so it meant that I had to re-visit it several times and the last half was not quite as memorable as the first but I intend to let those beauties sit for a bit and give them a proper going over in the summer...I really can't wait!!!

Blimey, you'll have plenty to smoke whilst at home twiddling your thumbs! Nice haul.
