  • Mum - can I borrow the car!?

A few of us met up for a short notice smoke on Saturday, just gone - which ended up turning into a rather long day!

You have seen some of the photographs from the day in Ts Birthday Bash thread, but i thought i would post a little more.

Lascaux, myself and Trevor met at Dunhill at around 1030 for breakfast consisting of a mixture of eggs alamain ( i think ) and bacon roll / coffee and three Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robustos. In what seemed no time at all, though was at least an hour, Matt (MBsomething) joined us [late]. Not having time for food or a cigar at Dunhill, he grabbed a few to go and we moved on toward the new British American Tobacco (BAT) joint where we met a yank in the shape of SeanP. We had a nose in the BAT cave but were not overly impressed with the selection and due to the fact that Matt was wasting away, we made the choice to move to 10 Manchester Street for our rendezvous with Paul (Monkey66). Here we all relaxed and enjoyed various cigars, coffees, smoothies, food - the usual. Cigars of note that were smoked include Paul's Ramon Allones Grandes RE Espana and myself and Trevor tried the Partagas Serie D No. 4 Reserva (both of us being thoroughly unimpressed by the way?!)

A few hours into our time at Manchester Street we were joined by yet another forum member for his first meeting of any forum members - TJ:01 (Tom). Tom enjoyed a Cohiba Siglo iv (correct me if i am wrong?). Eventually it reached late afternoon and various people had left due to evening commitments and those of us left decided to trek to the Boisdale for the remainder of the afternoon. Myself, Trevor, Sean and Tom enjoyed the warm weather with cigars, beer and rum on the terrace the The Boisdale for a few hours (after a rather "stressful" trip from Marylebone to Belgravia with half of the streets in Belgravia being closed and an aborted attempt to stop at Selfridges so that Trevor could get coffee...). Even this had to come to an end; Trevor and I saw of Sean and Tom to their trains before eating and pretty much calling it a night.....after two more cigars.

Yet another great day had - and it was a pleasure to meet Tom - who had very kindly brought along some tubes that i wanted to collect, after having posted me some the day before! Thanks again!

The image uploader for the forum is the bane of my existence and we dont seem to get on - i lose patience - therefore i have decided to just post the link for the album hosted on google images. If HTML can be re-activated, then google images has the facility to let me post a slideshow on here which could be quiet funky - but i doubt that Dean will reactivate it just for this.

You young rakes on the loose in London town!

Not sure about the last picture of T, I know he doesn't like having his picture taken (or says he doesn't) but I would warrant he had taken strong drink!

Had a very good time and don't let the pictures fool you, I do smile from time to time. I even laugh on occasion.

And thanks to James' mum for lending the car as I would have been stuck on public transport

I just want to highlight - it is my car, i dont need to ask to borrow it - the title has a slightly abstract meaning.

I don't mind reactivating HTML as I think the 'abuse' is likely to have stopped by now

Bugger - just realised I haven't replied to this!!

Was a really enjoyable afternoon meeting up with peeps - and am looking forward to doing it again soon. Engineering works are keeping me out of London next week; but we're only 2 and a half weeks off of those Behikes!!!
