Hi Folks, crikey its been a long time since I've been on here. Thought I'd give the heads up about some sticks I just picked up.

As some of you might remember I do do my student smoking on a budget so am always looking for a good deal. (Hopefully this will change soon as I'll be working an investment bank over the summer, should pay better than civil engineering...)

JJ Fox's website has an offer on at the moment clearing out their Alonso Menendez brazilian cigars. They have a dark wrapper, I'd say maduro but they are not advertised as such.

    25 No 10's (lonsdale, ?73)
    25 No 20's (corona, ?66)
    25 No 30's (panatela, ?52)

I went for the coronas and with their current free shipping offer they are some of the cheapest sticks I've smoked, including from Monte. ?2.64 gives you 45 minutes of even burn, good draw, and mild, sweet, pleasant flavour. Had them with a few things but Johnnie Walker Red Label really paired well.

Sticks are banded, nicely constructed, standard wooden box, everything you'd expect from something twice the price.

For the money I'm considering a second box before the offer ends. Shame they don't make a robusto. They'd make a great cigar for anyone just starting out looking for something cheap and cheerful to enjoy in the weather.

The pics on the website at...

...are pretty consistent with the ones I got.

They are a bit like the la invicta corona range but nicer looking and banded in a box, rather than wrapped in plastic. Slightly less sweet as well. Can't stress how much I'm enjoying them for the money.

I know about Mo's pledge although I'm not sure it counts regarding sale offers. JJ's la invictas are quite a bit cheaper than his though, in fact JJ's are priced very well online. Extortionate in their Harrod's and Selfridge's outlets though.

Yeah, looking now JJ charge ?85 for 25 invictas wheras Mo charges ?99. Plus JJ has free shipping until the end of April.

You might want to flag that up with him if you ever get some more.
