  • Cohiba Siglo I Tubo

Being inexperienced at this reviewing type thing I am just going to write a brief overview of this cigar.
I recently bought 3 from another forum member with great intentions of ageing them a bit before diving in, however continuing unemployment is seeing a rapid stock depletion and being down to my last 12 cigars, decided that bank holiday Monday was to be this ones day.
This little tubo was a joy to behold, the classy little Cohiba tube itself is a thing of beauty, more like a lipstick or ladies perfume atomiser. The cigar itself was flawless to look at, a lovely oily dark tan wrapper beautifully smooth and well made though at the price you would expect no less.
The pre light draw (I punched this rather than cutting) was perfect, not too firm, and the cigar lit easily with a single match.
The first couple of draws were fairly nondescript but it soon developed into a lovely creamy flavour progressing to a nuttiness with a hint of coffee.
There was plenty smoke and the burn was flawless from beginning to end. The creaminess and flavour continued reasonably unchanged for most of the first two thirds with a hint of spiciness as it progressed. The final third saw pepper and spice take over though never any harshness.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience which I managed, surprisingly to spin out for the better part of an hour. I would dearly like to allow the remaining 2 to be allowed to age a bit though this seems unlikely to happen at the moment.
Not a cheap option and still a big fan of the partagas shorts and JLPC's at less money and also still desperate to get my hands on a few Trini Reyes to see how they compare, but would certainly like to have some more in the humi once finances improve.
Marks out of 100 would need to be mid 80's for me.
    Apologies for lack of pictures.

    Good stuff Mr hound.
Never had a Siglo1. Now find myself tempted. Again.
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.
