  • C.Gars Behikes arrived

Just as I was walking out the door this morning a huge parcel sent special (or was it recorded) delivery was presented to me and I was asked to sign some PDA device thing by the Royal-Mail chap. I looked at it and thought "well this is not cigars, it is way too big, unless he has sent me Behike 150's or something). I turned over the parcel and sure enough, it was from Mitch at C.Gars.

I quickly but carefully opened the parcel. Inside in a little white box I found four BHK's. Also two of the Cuban photobooks he sells but I did not have time to look at that yet. Also a nice note saying thanks for dealing with him, here are the BHK's and books, etc. Lovely I thought, thanks very much indeed. Then I noticed something. The letter was titled to my surname but this had a pen line drawn through it and was replaced with "Trevor" in pen. Now why did that happen, did I make an arse of myself to Mitch at the party and so I am stuck in his memory or something? God help me.

    Mine too!

When I saw the postal van pull up outside I thought 'can't be for me, I'm not expecting anything (unless it's that Sancho* that Big T drunkenly promised to send me)'

    Bloody great envelope, wonderful contents.
    Now that's customer service!!!

    Great Job Mitch. Many Thanks

    * or was it a Phoenicia? Damn that short term memory loss!

Take the RA Phoenicios over the Sancho Panza Sanchos. There are about three people who want to try the Sanchos, you and who are the other two, was it Monkey66, don't think so. Come on, who out there had been waiting for me to open the box?? I will remember when you say.

            Ditto!

2 Behikes and a copy of the photobook. I've scanned the photobook already and find it to be fascinating.

Many thanks to Mitch and Co at CGars. Incredibly speedy service and a very welcome and generous surprise in the form of the photobook.

The book is great. I must admit that when I saw it on the web site I thought it was a book of pictures of the trips Mitch had taken to Cuba, but it's not. It's the most fantastic collection of historic photographs.

I loved the ones of George Raft and an incredibly young Alec Guinness with Noel Coward taken during the filming of Our man in Havana.

It's a great book and I believe the unsigned ones are incredibly rare!

Collected mine this afternoon, poured myself a rum and lit a cuban whilst browsing through this excellent collection, great start to the weekend. Many thanks Mitch.
