Just wondering how people store their cabs after i got my Nubs?

I've taken the lids off and stacked them on top of each other in the corner of the humidor so they can't be knocked and fall onto each other to allow the air to circulate better. Also do you store all your boxes at a slightly higher humidity and take singles out of the cabs and store as normal before smoking?

Lids on for me. Just in the humi. Ive thought about taking all the celophane off them too, to see if they age differently. Ive also considered putting a sheet of cedar in the top of the box with the wrappers off, again to see if it changes the profile or helps them age.

Trouble for me with Nubs is letting them age, they dont usually last that long.

      Now theres a suprise...

Regarding storage, i have a plan, why not pop them to me, let me store them for you? i can store them one by one with lip to nub contact, drawing in appropriate levels of air and correct moisture humidification and errrr consdier them smoked...

Ive got one.. yes one... SINGLE Nub cameroon sitting in my humi just staring at me begging to be stored in my body system!! and its the begging i just cant cope with, i may just have to put it out of its misery

Thanks for the offer eggy but i think i can manage to store one just fine You can't comitte such a henious act as putting a single Nub out of it's misery, i find if you smoke one and tell all their friends that this will happen to them if you don't start ageing it tends to make them smoke better lol. Fear makes cigars sweeter i'm sure

I think i'm going to store the cabs with the lids off that way the humidified air can get to them easier. Plus i get to gaze at their Nubby goodness every time i rummage through my humidor.

          SHOW OFF!

Any excuse to show off your fine haul, ay senor Jiberjaber?

Right then! I'm with senor nub on this on - LIDS ON!

The humidity will find it's way into your cabs. Besides, some say they age better in a closed cavity.

Regarding your question on cellophane. This is one of the oldest stogie questions I never tire of....cello on, cello off, cello on the the ends cut off.

When I first started on my stogie journey many, many moons ago, I had the same question, so I tested the best way to store stogies by taking the cello off a few and letting them age a bit. I detected no difference between those with cello and those without.

So, since they look better naked. I take the cello off. But leaving it on has it's advantages, too. Like when you're in a hurry and just want to throw a few stogies in your shirt pocket. The cello provided protection against tearing or, God forbid, the accidental dropping into the toilet.

But that's just me, damn it! After all, I'm Bag Boy, el Coro desconocido

Correction! You're Bag Boy, the unknown Boob!

Of course, you wouldn't face the ageless cello problem if you stuck to fine Habano puros, el Perro.

What he said. Lids on, slightly cracked if you are really worried.

As for cello I'm a fan of on. That added protection keeps me happy and like El Muchacho says, great if you are just tossing a few in your pocket on the way out the door. But I usually prefer to keep my cigars out of the loo
Trying is the first step toward failure.

I guess that's me told lol. I think i'll keep things as it is so far, lids off, cell on, and when i next rearrange my humidor, probably early next month when i cram more cigars in when i get back from gibraltar i'll put the lids back on and try to leave the Nubs long enough that they might actually age lol.

Aaaah, Gibraltar. Nothing better than sitting in Casemates on a warm afternoon getting totally shit faced and smoking as many duty free sticks as you can physically consume. Happy days

If your not sure about storage , smoke em. Though click on some Habanos outlets you can see in thier humi's lids on. Only a few lids are open from the ones they display or sell as singles.

                    Storing Cabs

One local cigar merchant here recommended lids on and sealed in zip-lock bags (inside a humi). I've done this to all my boxes. I check them every couple of months and all ok so far..
