  • I'm all Shuck up!!!

A well I bless my soul
    What's wrong with me?
Im itching like a man on a fuzzy tree
My friends say Im actin wild as a bug
    Im in love
    Im all Shuck up
Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah!

Well the Shuckmeister does not do anything by halves does he. He also has been doing his homework cos he has included a Rocky Patel sampler, so he obviously know i'm into them. Shuck you have outdone yourself and i deeply in gratitude, as there is a whole host of stuff i have'nt tried. I now have a full humi drawer just of Rocky's and its a good job i reseasoned my little desktop humi as its now full. I'm gonna have to get smoking to make some room in my humi now(any excuse eh).

Once again thank you Ron, you certainly have shaken these forums up.

And to end it all ....I got me a SHUCKTUBE, gerrin
I started out with nothing and i've still got most of it left - Seasick Steve

                          Perfect timing.

I was just about to PM our very own mad bomber, the shuckmeister; however this thread popped up quite opportunely, therefore...

I was recently the recipient of one of Ron's most generous incendiaries. Last night was perusing amongst my humidorii for an evening's smoke and chance't upon the shuckins munificence. "Hmmm...," sez I, "should try one of these," (all but one stick being smokes I had not previously experienced). Immedjutly, mine eyeballs are attracted to the one with the pretty, pretty bands and the cedar wrap I tend to favo(u)r on my stogies. The script is difficult to decipher what with all the black and red and gold going on, but I manage to ascertain something about a
Don Carlos Edicion de Anniversario, whatever that might mean. It is obviously some flavo(u)r of a Fuente, looking somewhat like an Opus X or Anejo Shark band. Welp, a Fuente. Can't much go wrong there. Strip off all the paraphernalia (very handsome looking fellow, indeed), snip the tip, toast the foot, and take my first draw.

                          Oh my!

Luxurious, smooth, creamy, delightful, mild, subtle, intricate, flavo(u)rs with billows of smoke!

Puff, puff, puff, puff like a Mad Hatter trying to drink all the tea in China.

Whoa! Slow down, chap. Enjoy. Appreciate.

Easier said than done. Felt like an addict with a long overdue fix that's suddenly found himself in the evidence room of the Narcotics Bureau.

But I manage to overcome my urge to replace all the air in my lungs with smoke from this majikal stogie and just relax and take slow, measured drags whilst I contemplate.

As the red end approached nearer my fingers, I impaled the stub with a toothpick I keep handy for just such occasions, and continued on until I detected wood burning. Twas then I reluctantly set this fine fellow down to extinguish gently on his own whilst I raced into the Man Cave to google exactly WTF it was I had just smoked.

Not much information available really. Nothing like the millions of hits on an El Fuma del Suomi Ballaboosta Elegante Culebra with the fermented Turkmenistani llama intestine wrapper.

So I find out that 2006 was the 30th anniversary of the Don Carlos cigars created by the patriarch of the Fuente family, Carlos Fuente, Sr. In a tribute to his father, Carlito Fuente has created the Don Carlos 30th Anniversary cigars, Don Carlos Edicion de Aniversario, in 2006 which was selected as one of the top 5 cigars of 2008 by Cigar Aficionado.

                          Interesting.

I'm thinking I would like to pick me up some of these nice smokes, so I go searching a bit further. And find to my horror that -- like the Opus line -- not only are these stogies difficult to obtain, but they are fooking
EXPENSIVE: $28-$30 a pop! (That's ?20-21 of your Brutish lbs. Stirling Moss).

                          SHUCKINS
! WTF is your problem? Okay, I can understand how it's lotsa fun to (mega) bomb people when you've got a substantial inventory and you get to see the looks on their faces when they get the equivalent of a surprise xmas present. But it's one thing to send folks a load of seconds and dogrockets (as I do) which don't come to thirty bucks for the lot of 'em, and something completely different to gift actual GOOD SEEGARS!

                          I just don't get it.

But alls I know is that if you happen across one of these lovelies:

don't hesitate. Buy it. Take it home. Smoke it. Fuck the expense. You're
                          worth it.
