  • Champagne and a Sublime on Bastille day... perfect

A post by Big T recently mentioned the Monte Sublime and it reminded me that those nice people over at Hunters & Frankau have organised a champagne and Cigar evening just for T and Pantomime horse (The two biggest Sublime fans here I think) on T's official Birthday - Bastille Day.

Details from the H&F web site are as follows:

On the 14th July, in honour of Bastille Day, The Contented Vine shall be hosting an evening of cigars and champagne.

The evening will include a Montecristo Sublime, a glass of three different Taittinger champagnes and some tapas-style canap?.

The evening is scheduled for 7.30pm - 9.00pm and tickets are available now for ?30 per head. For further details on the evening, or to purchase a ticket please contact Kate on 0207 834 0044 or email her at kate@contentedvine.com.

From the pictures it looks very compact and bijou so you might want to get in quick...ooooh la la.

Good (not great) cigar, excellent non-vintage fizz, the vintage is deeply variable. Who is going? Tempted but too busy polishing my arse with the French flag on that particular day.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
