Woke up in bad fettle today, had my coffee (very strong), read the papers and watched a wee bit of news and put me even more under haha. Took the dogs for a walk with a monte especial 2, i know not the best one for the job but one of my favorites. 10 mins in and i was in a great mood! It does start sweet and the best way to describe the sweetness is, its like a christmas taste and smell, lovely spices from the second third then woody and full body, its a strong cigar but full of all the right flavours for me.Even the girlfriend likes the smell and she hates cigars. I smoke cigars alot of the time and this is in most of my humidors, on constant reorders. Quickly followed by H.Upmann no. 2, had 3 already in the office, what a great cloud as you walk in. I know an air purifier is needed but hey only i go in my office so not too bad.
Chill out and enjoy a good cuban when you can

I used to enjoy walking my dog and enjoying a Cuban at the same time. Unfortunately he has really slowed down as he is getting on a bit so sprightly walks are over. It's like he has a Zimmer frame now.

It's great smoking a great one in freezing weather, I think. Makes the stogie taste richer, somehow.

I assume where you live is mostly nut-numbing outdoors. Cold cold cold.

Just returned from a swanky cigar lounge where I enjoyed a Sol Cubano sumatra and a Hoyo de Monterrey dark sumatra. I like the latter better. Afterwards I enjoyed some treacherous driving in the snow that caused my jeep to slide and take the better part of a short road horizontal. I was able to eventually straighten out and get home safely, but in the moment, fearing I might not come out of it alive, all I could think was "I should've smoked my Cuban!"

Joe - Tell us about the swanky lounge. I've never been to one, but I do have an ex-Woolwoths in my town.

I think cigar lounges - such as they ever were here - are strengst Verboten in the UK, now thanks to the Nanny State.

        So...

        Membership fees Y/N?
        Expensive sticks and drinks?
        Dress codes?

        I have no idea.
I don't know what happens in, say, the Casa del Habano in London.
Could I drop by in prole wear?

I like to know these things.

I don't go out to a local boozer, but I'd patronise a decent cigar bar. They're just not here.

Hi Bryan, its not too bad up here although lastnight did have a nice heavy frost. Had a great night lastnight, i cracked open a couple of boxes i had stored away. PLayed poker and smoked the night away then walked home with a punch and have to agree in the cold it tasted alot better!
Have you had many Monte no.2's?, they give me a headache, tried them many times and they still do.

Sounds like Larry had a good night and a scary drive home!, i go off roading in the snow and ice but i plan for it haha.

Bryan have you been onto the somkers club? they have a list that gives you every smoking bar in the UK. There are none by me up so looking at setting up a cigar shop and a cigar smokers heaven. Need to get sorted out with a good colection first though and matured.Shame your not near to scotland!!.

Oh the cigar lounge. It is nice. No membership fees. Just cigar smoking and booze. Or coffee if you like. Check out their web site. Google Cioppinno's in Pittsburgh. You'll see what I'm talkin' 'bout, yo.
