  • Rhumbar at the Mirage, las Vegas

Just got back from a trip to Vegas... discovered a great new bar that I would recommend if your visiting Vegas - Rhumbar at the Mirage. Great cocktails the humidor had a good range too, Padrons, Arturo fuente, Ashton VSG, Rocky Patels, Nubs etc. I took a selection of Cubans....

I Sampled many good rum based cocktails over the course of 3/4 nights, smokes included - Cohiba Robusto/Punch RS11/SLR serie A and an R&J Duke, all smoked great. With the night temperatures at 28/9 the drinks can go down a little too easy chairs very comfy, great live music (Jazz/Reggie) on some nights, scantly clad very fit pretty waitresses...... luckily stayed just across the road in the Wynn so could roll back in the early hours fairly easy....

No, you can only get pre-embargo Cubans in Vegas at about $80-150 each, I took my own.

You came prepared! I like that. Still, pre-embargo CCs must be close to priceless nowadays.

The Rio has a good range:

Two or three other locations have them as well... bit over priced!

Rhumbar @ Mirage is great when the weather is hot! Unofficial "Big Smoke" hangout. I enjoy the Petrossian Bar next to the lobby @ Bellagio. Good piano player and great place to people watch and enjoy a cigar. Of course there's Casa Fuente and the Mojitos they serve. Can be a bit crowded on the weekends.

You will not find any good, cheap cigars on the Strip. Just the nature of the Beast...

Are you allowed to take cubans into the country or did you sneak them in?

I think your allowed, but I was not asking....

You could always take off the bands.

I've been maybe 5 times with Cubans and not had a problem, cigars on the strip are a bit expensive, there is a place just past down town that is good for NC's.

Will try the bar in the Bellagio on me next trip, thanks.

I take off the bands carefully, put them in a tube and then restore them when through customs.

You are DEFINITELY not allowed! It's called the "Trading with the Enemy Act," I think!
No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.
No man has the right to say to his country, "Thus far shalt thou go and no further."
