Monthly subscription - July 2010

Little late, but as I was on holiday I couldnt get to them


Here is the monthly subscription from cigar connoisseur
for the new guys this is a 30? a month subscription service by an online retailer.

Julys cigars are :-
Montecristo - No5
Jose Piedra - Cazadores
3x3 robusto
Carlos terrano - reserva selecta robusto
La invicta - corona (again)

2 cubans - 3 nc this month

As usual poll runs till end of the month

Hard to say this time ass I have not smoked most of the sticks.

I think the question is to you, are you getting 5 sticks you enjoy?

For me I would rather spend ?30 on 1-3 sticks that should be great than 5 unknowns.

I do agree with monkey66, which was the precise reason why I had quit my subscription to this. Nonetheless, looking at it from a different perspective, it is not a particularly huge amount of money per month to part with, particularly if you like that monthly dose of spontaneity, surprise and adventure. By the way what about reviewing all the cigars each month as a whole ctrl...

Hmmm ?30 my views are;

Montecristo - No5... never tried this
Jose Piedra - Cazadores Yuk.. not worth the effort
3x3 robusto Yes ive had one, was quite nice.. but!
Carlos terrano - reserva selecta robusto These are ok but i wouldnt buy them very often
La invicta - corona (again) Out of these five, this one gets my highest rating, i quite like the La Invicta range

But i dont think there worth the money when you combine the 5 together, just my view

Wise call I think. Looking at your list I don't know the 333 TR, but if we included it, the same sort of money spent at CGars might have got you ....

I think on this month's showing, cancelling is not a bad idea. There was one month you posted which I think looked okay for the cash, but on the whole, not great selections (in my opinion). Plus, you always run the risk that they'll try and finish off their Monte Open stock on unsuspecting subscribers...

I think they'd be better sending out four better cigars for the same money (one per week). But that's just me.
