Birmingham Meet Up??

Hi All

I've decided to start a new thread rather than add to the old one - hope that's okay?

How do the brummies (and non brummies) feel about arranging a meet up in October. I was thinking of the weekend of 23rd or 24th October, lunch at Simpson's Restaurant in Edgbaston. Great food, geat wine and great cigars!

October was picked as a date as it's far enough away from holiday season and not too close to Christmas.

Any takers?

You're taking her to the best restaurant in Birmingham - I suspect that she will be rather pleased, though a new handbag may be needed too.

She seemed quite happy to be going! I had no idea it was there; I used to live about half a mile away...

I have booked a table for 8 people at 12.30 on Saturday 23rd October. So far attendees are:

Me and hubby
Daverave plus lovely wife
Cigarsmoke

plus I have two Facebook friends who have said they would like to attend.

So we have one free space, and at a push could get another 2 people on the table. (Maximum of 10)

Cancellation policy is 48 hrs beforehand, otherwise I have to pay ?25 per non-attendee.

I think it is probably best if we each pay our own bill on the day, that way if anyone wants to veer away from the ?30 special menu or indulge in some of the other wines/spirits available it will be easier to work out totals owed?

All the 10 spaces have now gone - however, if anyone else would like to come along I could see about getting something more formal arranged. That would require deposits to be paid upfront as we would need to hire the private dining room.

You suggest that it is a good venue to bring along a lady. I wonder if it is as good a venue to meet a lady??

Humm, I've lived in Birmingham all my life, yet I have not heard of this restaurant ??

Dyfs - we can probably squeeze one more on to the table but it will be a bit cosy - I'm afraid at this point we are full so couldn't squeeze in a lady friend.

However, if you do want to impress a new lady it is a very fancy restaurant.
