  • Quitting sucks

A few weeks ago I quit smoking (cigarettes). Not through choice, but because the fertility clinic my wife and I are under will not touch us if we're smoking. Which has also meant no cigars thanks to the weekly CO2 readings.

So no cigars until the end of next month

    I'm not a happy bunny.

Keep going, it will be worth it in the long run. Just think of the money you've saved.

Just think of that first one when you start again!

[EDIT] I mean the cigars-the fags ain't worth starting again IMO. Last February I gave up, and I feel much better for it.

If you still need a quick fag fix try getting hold of some minis. I love my cohbia minis for that quick few minutes hit when you haven't got the time to appreicate a nice cigar. Plus your cigars will tate better after another month of ageing

Gave up the cigs for the very same reason Chris, although don't have to go thru c02 tests, so i can still have a stogie. I wish the very best of luck for you and your wife.

I have patches and an inhalator which is working really well. I actually miss relaxing with a stogie on the weekends more than I miss smoking tabs. It's spurred me on to look seriously at SCUBA diving again (used to dive regularly), and quitting the ciggies will only help my diving.

Yeah but you get smoke from ecigs and they dont hurt the throat or burn the skin
                        Seriously have a look

Think of the future my friend. If, as I sincerely hope, all goes to plan for you both, you'll realise what a small price it is to pay.
My thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with you both.

It's not a pleasant thought - knowing how long it will be until you light up a fine cigar again. I've just gone over a month without one ( ), though I didn't know it would be this long. Which is probably better than knowing how long the suffering will go on for.

Make up for it with golf or something - perhaps a distance learning course, with tutor, in neurosurgery instead of teaching yourself...
