  • Diesel Shorty

Picked up a 5 pack of these last week, and have gone through 3 already.

The shorty was created by A.J Fernandez for the American reality tv star Shorty Rossi. Im not sure who he is, but i like his cigar.

    Size - 4.5 X 60

The maduro wrapper of the Shorty is nice and dark, just the right amount of give to the squeeze test, and the smell was pungent yet very appetising.

The shorty is double banded with the Diesel band, and a second Diesel Shorty band .

Prelight draw was both spicy to the tongue and woody to the palette.

First thing i noticed after lighting was the amount of smoke the cigar produced, copious amounts that billowed from the mouth.

The first inch of the cigar produced a great peppery flavour, with notes of cedar and a note that i can only describe as when you smell sawdust. Thats the flavour i picked up when exhaling through the nose.

The ash hung on like a Nub, i ashed it after this as the wind was picking up.

As the cigar approached the band , the flavour profile changed to a fruity "almond" flavour that lasted to the end, along with just a hint of pepper on the tongue.

As ive said before, im not the greatest reviewer, i just explain it as best i can.

The shorty is a short powerful cigar, it reminded me of the cains for its strength, but with a different flavour profile, and i enjoyed every last inch of it.

    Get them while you can

      Nice write up Lee.

I've had five and two, to your five and three Lee.

Judging by the aroma, once out of the celo, mine were a tad juvenile but ok for smoking. Aged a bit, these IMHO, will get better and better. However, the hard part would be putting some aside as I thought they were a good tasting smoke and I look to them whenever I open the love nest. My experience of their ash was flaky and weak, unlike yours, and if being critical, this let it them down. Wanna swap one?

Thanks goes out for the opportunity on these too

Would I have again? You bet.

Here's an article I found the other week about Shorty himself.

Similar to the torp, but with better stronger flavours. I still think these are decently priced, i will have a look into it
