As I've mentioned before on this site, I'm in the process of selling everything up and going travelling for a bit...maybe a year or two. Whilst having no fixed abode at my time of life is a bit scary it also occurred to me that it's a fantastic way to stop me smoking all the lovely cigars in my humi before they even get a chance to age, which is generally what happens. I'm constantly hearing my fellow forum members say " I put them down for a year or two and now they're fantastic!!"....how do you do that!!!??? I don't have that much self control!!! So it struck me that if I stashed some quality smokes in the humi and went away for a year or two they'd be tip top and ready to make love to when I get back With this in mind, I decided to bite the bullet and stash away a box of Behike 56's to round off my collection. I've only smoked one of these previously and it was a gob smackingly delicious experience but nothing quite prepared me for the full beauty of a row of ten of some of Cuba's finest and the exquisite presentation case and packaging to boot. All I can say is...WOW!!!! When I'm laying in my roach riddled room in Cambodia or somewhere I'm sure I'm gonna be dreaming of coming home to the unashamed luxury that this box promises.

I have a question for my fellow members about storage though, the gorgeous lacquered box had a thick protective film on it which I removed as it had a plastic like smell to it, I then returned the box to its felt like sleeve and then put it back in the cardboard outer box before putting it in the humi. I checked the other day and I think the felt sleeve might be retaining a little bit of the plastic aroma from the protective film, so my question is this... If any of you guys been lucky enough to have a box of Behike's how much of the packaging did you leave in place before putting them in your humi?

The plastic smell was far to strong for me, the contents stored outside of the box, on the basis that one day the box will be ok. I'll go give mine a whiff tomorrow.

Exquisitely beautiful! It is very tempting to buy a whole box. You certainly have the best excuse in doing so though!

Geez, stuff of fantasy! Wish I could buy a box or two!

Might get some 52s while in Cuba, but even that's a stretch.

I have these, and you know this... I didnt even think about the felt bags retaining too much moisture DOH !
I will be taking them out of that this evening, the plastic I removed as it was a wee bit strong.

Nice purchase! I had the same plastic smell with mine. To get rid of the smell I removed all the plastic and left the cloth out for a day or two keeping just the lacquered box in my humi.

Once the smell had gone I put the lacquered box back in the cloth and the cardboard box and then put that in a sealed zip lock bag back in my humi (as I do with all my boxes that I store for long term ageing).

                              Should work..
