  • Very Rare NC Cohiba 'aged'

Bought 12 years ago, In Dom Rep on honeymoon.
Didn't know any better at the time. (Cigars & Marriage)
Has sat at the bottom of a shoe box in loft since return.
Found during clear out this weekend.

Do you think this would be considered 'aged'
May be a little past it's best, minor signs of bloom at foot.

Will do a swap for a Behike 56 or at a push a partially used box of matches.

Note: May not be a REAL Cuban Cohiba, so makes it even betterer!

I think a cigar that special (and that well stored) you should smoke yourself as a treat

Do let us know how good it is

It's so dry, if I lit it it go up like a rocket.

Do you think it's worth putting it in a humi for a couple of years to return it to it's true fauxhiba glory?

I'm thinking of calling JJ Fox and see if they want it for their museum.

No, but it's worth putting in a zip-lock with a humi cushion and keeping in the bathroom for a week or two.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

don't smoke it, it might make u sick, i had 4 NC which i kept lying around in storage condition similar to yours for 3 years only, smoked 2, both made me sick after a 1/2. then I put the other 2 in my humidor for 3 months, and smoked one, no sickness, but I wished I didn't smoke it, one left, now in to my museum, as a cigar 'left' from my first box of cigar given by freind for my wedding.

When you bought it, did you happen to notice whether it came out of a glass-topped box? Only way to determine whether it's real, y'know.

                Dont' Worry

I wouldn't smoke it even under clerical orders from the Pope.

Just thought it's raggedy ass would entertain the UKCF prior to it's final journey onto the compost heap.

There were actually three in the box, two were knackered, but one seemed to have no bloom or obvious imperfections, I've stuck it in a bag with a 'water pillow' and will leave it there for a couple of months. NO intention of smoking even that, thought it would be a good conversation piece as an indication of my journey as a stogie fiend.

I've never seen a glass topped 'Authentic' Cohiba box in the flesh.

Would quite happily have one as a comedy box for lighters/cutters/matches/cedar sticks and all the other crud that sits around my humi.

                  Anyone got one?

Good Point, senor Rockittheman - the original!

Not too long ago, a very rare glass-top box of fine fauxhibas was auctioned off on this very site, but I can't seem to find the thread because the stinkin' forum search only goes back a few months!!!

Something that special, you should save it for the next stick a stick in.

                          Noooooo

And watch the new boy get lynched.

Maybe it could be offered as some kind of booby/wooden spoon prize in future?

                          Thinking of varnishing it!
