  • Anyone visit Hamlet in Scotland?

I'm super pissed off right now, We Scots are always moaning that London gets all the cigar events etc. Well it turned out that Hamlet (the torcedor) was on a week long tour in Edinburgh at 3 of the better stores and no one mentioned it on here.

I would have gave a left bollock to go and get some freshly rolled smokes but guess I missed my chance. I only found out today after a random check of the H&F site. (they also have pics of the new UK RE)

Did anyone get to go or even know about it?

Seems like a case of Shit marketing by the organisers (H&F). Im a member on their site and Ive never received an email from them once. I know they have staff on this site too, so a heads up would have been appreciated especially after the first event got cancelled.

Hopefully it was a successful event with the festival and all and we dont get blanked next time.

I'm a member too and I've never once been contacted either. One of their staff is a forum member (stephen!?!?) so could have let us know....

This happened a month or so back for me in Cardiff. I'm a member of the H&F website too! My MUM told me about it FFS after she'd read about it in the local paper. Worthwhile checking the website to see if they are coming back, as it turns out they are for Cardiff.

Woefully inadequate PR from H&F though. We're a captive audience eager for info and we have to go looking for it.

Kdot, Lionhound, Stevieboy and all the other UKCF members that have missed out on Hamlet's Scottish visit, I am sorry for the lack of communication.

It wasn't our intention to keep it quiet from anyone and it is disappointing to think that real enthusiasts have missed out on the chance to see him.

On a more general point, we tend to invite two torcedores over from Cuba every year, each to conduct a three month tour. As soon as we have the dates confirmed with Cuba we begin booking their schedule and putting the dates onto our site. We have had the current bookings up on the H&F site for a while now and, as a rule, put dates up as soon as they are confirmed.

That said, I take your point that a mention on this site would not have been out of place, so sorry guys.

I seem confused...surely it is down to the retailers who get the roller to publicise this fact. After all the roller would only be benefiting the shop at that point so maybe they need to get off their arses and do some leg work to get us punters informed. I know some retailers are members on this site so why the hell can't they do something about it.

I mean I can understand why Hunters don't send the club members details of these events - personally it would ending up feeling a bit like spam mail getting all the details for things I would not have the ability or inclination to attend.

Welcome to the UKCF Franky boy, nice of you to chime in!
How about a introducing yourself in the newbie section?

You do have a valid point about the retailers doing some legwork but you have to remember they are local stores and do not necessarily have an internet presence. Plus they may only get the info out to their direct locality and some of us live a couple of citys away where we have our own local press, etc

I would love to get emails from a site I chose to join, about a hobby I love. This would inform me about things like this, new releases, etc.

I wouldnt see an all encompasing infrequent email(monthly or weekly) as spam especially if I subscribed to it. (think about it as a list of tour dates for your favorite band, you cant go to all the shows but you may not mind traveling)
