  • Nub Cain Maduro.

Never had a Nub nor a Cain so it was quite poetic to smoke this baby.

Appearance: Well, its a Nub! No veins that I could see, satin silky chocolate brown wrapper, with a spicy aroma, and adequate dry draw. The damn thing was almost too thick to use either my C-Gars or Cigar Connoisseur plastic cutter. Managed to cut it anyway (just about!), but perhaps I may have to invest in a pair of steel scissor cutters in the future...

1st 1/3 = Wow!!! The first puff was literally a burst of sweetness engulfing the mouth, with a spray of medium peppers turning fruity and spicy. An oily slick of liberally stretched flavours, generously coating the tongue! Amazing!

2nd 1/3 = This sweet spicy kick remained consistent. Its super smooth relish of dark roasted coffee and cinnamon spice, stirred in a soup of tobacco rich smoke, leather, and fermented fruits. In fact this sweet cinnamon tang can almost be comparable to that of gingerbread, with a vanilla after taste. Very tasty!

Final 1/3 = Vanilla spice and smoke generation escalating in intensity. So tasty that you almost forget that your burning your fingers! Definitely should come with a warning!! The burn and ash was smooth, though surprisingly (given its girth) not lasting longer than half an inch.

Overall, this cigar was certainly something completely new to me both in looks and in taste! Like drinking a glass of sweet ambrosia in the form of a fat tobacco packed nub. The sweetness, you could say, was equivalent to a slice of lemon and pinch of salt after a shot of tequila. The leather balancing out the sweetness, and the sweetness balancing out the full bodied strength.

An alien of a cigar with bewildering oomph! This certainly did hit the so-called 'sweet spot'! A short stick lasting an hour! I may need to try all the nubs now...

    Thanks Mike for this!

well just finished my first of these and loved it,definitely got the coffee and leather.im now hoping my amateurish pallette has some potential.Unfortunately the wrapper of the one i smoked was very brittle but the other four seem fine so i'm now looking forward to another.

thanks for posting your review though rolan6,it really helps to have a reference as to what to look out for when you have just started out

These don even come close to the Cain Nub Maduro.

Just had my second of these and the only complaint is it was too short
