    Man O' War Ruination Belicoso

This is not a review proper, but I was curious to see how many of you have enjoyed this monstrously fabulous cigar. I am finishing up my second one, and I am once again struck by its perfect combination of power and flavor. The Ruination takes off right away with a hit of pepper, but there is a rich depth that keeps the strength from being simply overwhelming.

I haven't the pallet to really describe the flavors, but what really sticks out is what I think of as the umami category: a savory, almost meaty aspect that makes you want to keep puffing away even though the stick is strong and lasts up to two or so hours. This may be my inexperience, but I wouldn't say that the flavor goes through distinct stages, but I could care less; it maintains its depth completely, though the pepper dies down a bit as it burns.

The burn is even, the ash a strong and gray, and the smoke plumes thickly. The draw was slightly tight this time, but it's a bit humid today, and the flavor that coats the mouth stays, though it does not destroy everything else that you might ingest later on in the day.

When the funds come around, if they do, I will surely purchase a box. I'd say that the Man O' War, the regular edition, is quite good, but the Ruination takes that enjoyable, earthy smoke up to heaven.

A great stick, this, and if you've a long, leisurely afternoon, you can't go wrong. Just eat a full meal beforehand.

So as I smoke this down to the nub, all I can think is "I've got blisters on my fingers!"

You'll be loving these! I live in the island of Alameda, right next to the Fruitvale bridge exit. Ever been there? Sleepy little town, but I like it.

I did have one of these the other day--I thought it was good, but not comparable to the Ruination. On the other hand, I hadn't let it sit long, so I'm going to give it a second try in a week or so. Do you find these to be better?

They are both great in their own profile as they are differant from each other. I will be getting the Diesel unliminate in this week and will then have smoked like a truck the full Diesel range. The Ruiination is a cigar needing a good Rum and coke with nothing to do for an hour or some. I enjoy the Robusto No. 2s 6.0" x 60 Of all the sizes offered! For those who haven't had these yet you don't know what your missing.
For those that have you know what Soulmamure has discribed.

Haven't heard of the Unlimited till you mentioned it--a new stick to sample! Life is terrible.

Yes Sir, i only tried the one and was pleasantly surprised. There was a new release in the range the Diesel Unlimited, I hear good things about these too.

So far, I'd say the Ruination lives up to its name and leaves the Diesel reduced to fumes, so to speak, but I'm happy to smoke some more and see if I can change my mind.

Can't say as I've had the pleasure yet--curious to see if you find them better than the Unlimited when they come in. The Diesels sure do have an excellent price point.

I would agree that the MOW Ruination & Diesel Unholy are as good as each other, given the different profiles they exhibit. Nice smokes indeed.
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)
