I am a bit biased as I have just ordered an iPhone 4, which I should receive by Friday.

I have the 3GS and would upgrade to an iPhone 4. However the iPhone 4 doesn't work on my current MacBook operating software and I can't justify spending the money on the upgrade and then another ?100+ to get the latest operating software.

Dont goto the 4!!! I got a 4 on opening day - big mistake. The antennae issue was one thing, but mine also suffered from the proximity sensor issue - basically when i use the phone it would randomly hang up, dial people, initiate facetime etc. It got so bad I went back to my 3gs. I still have the 4 hoping apple will eventually fix the issues, but in the meantime my 3gs works perfectly.

                iPhone 4 hands down.

Better screen, better camera, better chip, better GPS, better looking, better phone!!!

Buy it, use it for 14 days, if you're not happy take it back...I bet you dont though.

Interesting, my son upgraded about a month or so ago and wishes he hadn't. Finds reception poorer than the 3GS and also been complaining of it cutting off.

Difficult one for a poll Dale. I always find that often those that don't have are going to say stick with the old model and those that do have will be split into those (poss in good reception areas) who have no probs, those who think its a piece of crap and will warn you off, and those who will say its great cos they have it but won't admit its shit.

Personally, I'm still on my trusty nokia till April but looking to get the i-phone then. Which one? Dunno, a lot can happen in 6 months but I just love them and want one.

iphone 4, hands down. The antenna thing is resolved with the free case. I have the Speck pixelskin hd, really cool!

The thing with the iphone 4 that blows off the competition is the screen. seriously... you cannot believe how amazing it looks! You can easily read a book, plus the camera is really good. the hd video especially.

I am not an Apple fan boy I only upgraded because my contract was to be renewed . The girl at 3 mobile told me that they had just received a batch of iphones, I could upgrade by Nokia N96 to it, with the same contract, plus they would buy off me my old phone for 80 quid! so I got the iphone for 20 quid and the same contract as before. I also had a look at HTC desire, with was pretty nice, but the screen of the iphone 4 is really something else, so I got sold...

Might want to check out the Samsung Galaxy S - it has an AMOLED screen that is much better than the 4 IMHO. For the record I'm a total gadget nut and yes, I own and have in front of me a Samsung Galaxy S, iPhones 3, 3GS & 4. i should also point out that I get sent free tech frequently, but i refuse to let it sway my opinion :-)

I'm in the same position as my contract runs out next month, I love my iPhone 3G but am sick of all the problems that I get everytime I upgrade the OS, this last time was 3hrs before I got it to respond after the upgrade and I still lost all my contacts and photos so I was leaning Towards the HTC desire, looks a brilliant phone and flash with web browsing would be nice again too.

I would stay with the 3GS. I have a friend with the 4 and he doesn't have any of the standard issues and loves the phone.

It is noticeably faster but then I wouldn't hve known this if I'd never seen it. My only issue is that I don't like the design. I think it is a step backward.

If you like the look of the phone then I would get it. It is better technologically speaking.

If you're a new buyer than 4. If you have the 3GS I wouldn't bother upgrading.
