Had to explain to my daughter this morning (age 9) what 9/11 was, as she'd heard a tribute piece on Radio 4.

Really brought it all back.

May our memories and those of our children ensure that all those who were lost during 9/11 are never far from our thoughts on this day.

Was just reflecting on the fact that the changes that have taken place in the world are a lot more subtle than I'd have imagined the day after 9/11....thats probably a good thing.

I was working shifts. I'd just got home and my wife was chatting away but in the background I could hear the radio.
I tuned her out and listened to what the news guy was saying.
Went into the living room and turned on the TV.
WTF! I thought "Am I watching a movie? Is this for real?"
Unfortunately it was real. Just been watching some of the footage on Youtube.
The day the world changed. Although for better or worse is open to debate.

I was in Scotland on holiday and staying with friends who were both out at work. I put the TV on about 2pm to see what was happening in the world and tuned right into the attack. Jeez, it was like watching a movie. I remember thinking "what the hell's gonna happen next?"

About 5pm, I went to the Tollbooth Tavern in Embra for a pint and it was full of American tourists watching from the door and making phone calls as the pub management had made the phone available for free for all who needed to use it. I'll never forget the ide eyes and open mouths.

That day and for little while afterwards, the US had the sympathy of the free world.

The Coros happened to be in Washington, D.C. across the Potomac river from the Pentagon when it was hit. An unforgetable site....a sad moment.

Amigo they'll tell you those building were dropped by the plane crash. If you review the footage its not possible for the basement to implode at the same time they collapse . Black boxes 1 recovered. Hummmmm eyewitness accounts say different. The airspace guarded by the military for all those Years prior to 911 only to be turned over to the civilian sector 6 months before the attack. Just my opinion but if you have wolfs in sheep's clothing ,Their still Wolves

I agree...

I was on the island of Okinawa, Japan with my wife and I was stationed there. We were in the middle of a strong typhone when through my very fuzzy tv screen (no cable) I heard the news reporter say an aircraft had hit the WTC.
