I think that they stopped the experiments after the spectacular failure of grace under pressure to move the first grace engine.

I saw a Mythbusters a while back about high-pressure hot water boilers rupturing. Some incredible video where several hundred litres of superheated water suddenly empties out of it and flash vapourises.
