    H.Upmann Connaisseur No.1
    Origin: Cuba
    Size: 5ins x 48 ? Robusto
    Smoke time: 50mins.

Appearance: Dark, pleasant to the touch, oily wrapper. Slightly veiny.

Construction: Top notch. Easiest lighting cigar I?ve ever smoked. Quick blast from my new-filled Cigar Savor, courtesy of Rumsack, and away into a perfect burn. The draw was light, creating delicious amounts of soft, aromatic smoke. The ash stayed compact and firm, needing only three ?flicks? in the entire duration of the smoke,

Flavour: The start is fresh, mostly woody, not deep or intense but pleasantly satisfying. In the next stage gentle peppery notes become apparent and adding to the flavours mix. In the final third, richer flavours appear adding an earthier, mocha tone to the smoke with the spicy flavours becoming slightly less noticeable. The Cuban ?twanginess? (if that?s a word) if anything, increases as the smoke progresses ? Excellent!

Overall: I?d certainly recommend the Connaisseur No.1 to anyone, especially to beginners like myself because it?s so light, clean tasteing and easy to smoke. IMHO the Conni 1 has all the qualities a good Cuban cigar should have.

C'mon big fella - you're being too modest!

Well written - concise, logical . . . and articulate. Good Job!

Now, stop pulling your punches - start scoring them out of a hundred - and 'smack down' anyone who disagrees!

      Chocks away!

P.S. More pictures would be good too!

Good review mate.... im with you on recommending 'light' cigars to newbies, once they become accustomed to smoking cigars they can try more stronger flavours

nice one arf......... this is one robusto i haven't tried yet!!! hoping to remedy that soon(ish)!!!! funny thing i've found, having got pretty used to the more full bodied cuban range (partagas and bolivar) i can now appreciate these lighter cigars more........ i used to avoid upmann's, now i've got them in regular rotation!!!!

              all the best buddy,

Nice review Arf. It sounds like a good lazy afternoon smoke.
Can you get 'em in singles or 3 packs?

                      Tip top review tippexx!

Sounds like a tidy smoke. Proof, if ever there were needed, that strength ≠ flavour (and flavour ≠ strength). You can have a light cigar which isn't mild... 'Richness' is not solely the reserve of Bolivar, Partagas and Cohiba etc. (Yes, I'm making a point here, but the review did it better).
