  • Whats new in the humi....a new humi!!!!

As some of you may have gathered, I've only recently got into cigars "properly" and as such have been keeping my sticks in an old cigar box with a drymista:

So I thought it was time to upgrade to a proper humi. I tried the cheapo ebay route and ended up with a nasty tacky plastic covered one (the advert didnt advertise as such, just didnt mention it!). To be fair to the seller, he did accept a refund and returned all my money. Lesson learnt, a bit like Guantanamera! So I surfed and surfed and plumped for one from Tabak Pietsch (http://www.tabak-pietsch.de/) and here it is:

To say I'm chuffed with it would be true. Upgraded to a digi humi and after a welcome discount from Philipp it was only ?60 all in! Just over a week for delivery which is fair from Germany and very quick and polite comms from Philipp, can't recommend enough.

Just need my order from cgarsltd to arrive to fill it and i'll be one happy bwgan!

I got my very first humi from him as well, same size I think but a glass top and analogue hydrometer set in the front. He does ship quick, I think mine only took a few days and hardly needed any seasoning. A top quality product from a top seller.

          Very nice piece of kit!

I remember getting my first one (gazes into space - wistfully).

Post up some more pics when you've loaded it with your cigars.

Think with my consumption rate...2 a week..ok maybe 3 this will be big enough for now!! (head down waiting for the newbie naivety jibe!)
When Mitch's crew have delivered, it'll be looking much healthier.

Ahh, that's a fine looking start down a road that will take you to a much larger humidor.

Looks just like Eggys hunidor, empty by the end of the day!

Nice start man, lets see some photos of Mo's first despatch when they arrive.

Love the design on your old cigar box, that's really nice, if you're ever chucking that out give me the nod first!

Well done! A fine looking humidor. May it always be empty due to you smoking your sticks!

Are you still using your dry mistat to humidify it ? Just gettin into cigars and thinking about using something similar to your cigar box mistat set up(budget reasons at the moment) did you have good results ?

Did it work??? I think so, but I didnt have a hygrometer. I had one bad stick in the time I used it, but Bop thought from the description that it was too wet and I'd have thought the risk of my setup would be too dry. Out of interest, I've just popped the digital one in the cigar box while I wait for the new humo to season. So I'll post the reading in a bit. I got it off ebay for ?2 and a mista stick for ?12...so a cheap solution for 14 cigars.

Sorry Dave, but I think I'll be keeping the box for a travel humi. If I upgrade to one of them posh presentation boxes I saw someone selling on ebay, you're more than welcome.
