Just thought I'd start a seperate thread for the plan for an up-and-coming birmingham herf
(Taken from: The Birmigham Hotel du Van' thread)
So anyone who might be interested could see it (and avoid a 'thread-jacking).

Clicky linky please.

We have a slight problem of childcare - the Grandparents already have Rose on Saturday for the Simpsons get together.

Keith - would we be okay to bring a very cute and well-behaved babe in arms with us? She is no trouble and we have taken her to quite a few other restaurants and pubs. I'm trying to get her used to as many situations as possible so that she knows how to behave.

Guys, I'm in the wilderness (Scotland) until Friday so may not get the chance to check this thread much before I get home.

If anyone (other than myself and Bop) is up for a herf (next Wed or Thursday at Keith's) and would like me to pick them up a freshly rolled one from Cgars on the 25th, leave me a note or pm, and I'll sort out the details with you at the weekend.

P.S. May also be able to make the 24th, but will let you know.

Cheers

Great - what time Sunday? If there's no set time we will probably drift over in the afternoon for a cup of tea* and a cigar.

R x

*Martin will probably want to explore the whisky too.

So what's the date for this then? I think I've seen about three mentioned in nine posts.

I may try and head up for this (bloody long way, I know) - unfortunately a little unlikely with the Shooting Herf coming up too, I might have to cut my cloth so to speak. That said it would appear from GoogleEarth that the pub is pretty near to my Grandma's (who lives in Greet).

I think there's two separate things going on:

1. I believe a few members expressed an interest in the Rum event we have on Thursday 28th October. Everyone welcome and folks can just turn up. We can accomodate 1 guests or 101 guests. Its basically rum tasting: it costs £10 and you get to sample 6 truly great rums (we have about 50 in stock and some very, very good ones).

Some folks found this difficult so decided to come across anyway ...

2. This Sunday (24th) a few people are going to visit the Prince for a small informal gathering. Time is still yet to be decided but as host I am flexible.

Hope this helps and perhaps folks can suggest the best time for Sunday (early evening?)

Regards Keith

great - will be there sometime between 1 and 2 on Sunday. I should be fairly easy to spot, unless Keith has persuaded some others of my sex to become SOTL?
