  • Partagas Short

Had a little bit time off today so decided to go for a nice stroll with coffee since it was a lovely morning. Anyway this is my first review so please be kind

    Partagas Short
    Size - 4 3/8
    Ring Gauge - 42

    Appearance
If I'm honest not the best looking cigar i have ever seen, a little veiny. Although it did have a nice little sheen to it, with almost dark looking wrapper.

    Pre-Light
Didn't have too much of an aroma about it, seemingly a little bland. However with a nice cut (1st time with my new Xi1) the draw was just how I like it a little on the easy side, with a little woody taste.

    Flavour
This little baby didn't miss the start and shot out the blocks! Straight in with a lovely nutty and almost caramel/toasted flavours, with a nice amount of smoke and a perfect draw. After the first third these flavours started to change into more coffee and cream flavours - which enhanced as I reached half way. In the final third these flavours did take a back seat with a more pronounced peppery flavours with a little hint of cream.

    Overall
It was a great smoke and very enjoyable which I would put up with the top 5 I've had this year. I was surprised to the flavours this baby put out (I must admit I was a little dubious before hand). I would defiantly recommend this mighty little stick to everyone, as a nice morning or late night smoke. It's safe to say I will be getting a bunch of these in the next order.

A good review indeed. A little surprising though as the Shorts normally bolt out the gate and hit fairly hard for such a small smoke. The spice is more evident earlier IMHO. Keep the reviews coming mate.
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)

        Great first review gooseman!

And what a way to kick off, with one af Havana's finest. I think we're making a good fist on UKCF of ensuring that this small cigar is not under-rated.

I've got to agree with the previous--great review and excellent choice. Can't really go wrong with the short. It's a mini-powerhouse.

You won't regret it, especially if you add a box of 898's (varnished).

Couldn't agree more, I bought a box of Dippy 5's instead of these (didn't have the difference in cash on the day) smoked my 1st Party short last weekend. Much more flavoursome smoke than the Dippy. When the Dippys are gone I'll be buying a box of these.

Thanks gents, I couldn't resist doing a little review as I felt the little cracker deserved it.

Trying my best not to light another tonight
