Oh my goodness, he mentioned the Laurent as it was CHEAP, not as it was the cream of the crop. If I am in the right mood I have my last bottle of the 85 Krug, a couple of the 2000 Dom Perignon, three of the 96 Veuve Cliquot, a 98 Pol Roger, as well as plenty of NV Pol Roger, Tattinger, Louis Roederer and Veuve. anyway, the paper i read mentioned lanson's black label nv only, i saw a few others that have since been mentioned (tattingers, heidseck etc), but the more 'premier' type champagne (you know what i mean) was the usual price (moet, bollingers, laurent perrier, Dom P?rignon)!!!! my experience with champagne is non existent (except for veuve clicquot yellow label, moet and sainsbury's 'blanc de noirs'), had i known this info, i may have bought more!!! ah well.......
also, i've also read that both tesco's & sainsburys 'blanc de noirs' champagne got fantastic reviews in a blind tasting from world experts!!!! even better that it's under ?20 a bottle!!! it may not be a vintage krug, but what else would you expect from under ?20!!! sounds like a nice treat to have with a nice cuban cigar.....
