A load of snow has settled in saaath lundun and my school's closed so I intend to dress up toasty, sit outside and smoke the day away!

Snap! Just going to get things done from home...far warmer and FAR better coffee!

At present I don't feel I could brave the cold for a quick smoke. May wait to see if it brightens up.

There's about 2 foot of snow in front of my door and most of the roads in my little suburb have yet to be cleared but I was still able to make it into Aberdeen for work. It pisses me off when I see things like schools closing because of snow, they wouldn't close a hospital would they!

However the hospitals might be a lot more full with stupid people trying drive their kids to school in conditions that they're not used to driving in?

Unfortunately I'm stuck at home in Fife and have left all my cigars in my flat in Edinburgh, so I wont be smoking anything today.

If they don't bite the bullet at some point then they never will be used to driving in it

Spot on Styler! couldn't agree more.... did my arctic training around Bogen in Norway many years ago, -30 to -40 and learnt you CAN deal with any conditions if you get out in it. I can only remember once, in my days at school, it being NOT shut but children at a distance being advised not to travel... it still remained open for those in walking distance & us unlucky buggers on the school Double Decker

Driving in poor conditions is so simple. Driver gets in car and engages brain before pulling off..

                        Not that difficult is it.

I'm snowed in thanks to the M25 turning into a piste, but my poor wife had a clear route into work, so had no excuse to stay home. So I'm all on my lonesome for the next few hours No way I'm going outside for a smoke today though - too cold for lil' old me
I'm still waiting for the whiskey to whisk me away
And I'm still waiting for the ashtray to lead me astray

The requirement of the DVLA's driving test doesn't call for a brain or, even if you come from the Indian sub-continent, your own provisional license.... & when you get to 70 all you have to say is "Yep I'm O.K. to drive" & they give you a new license to cause mayhem!

I was off yesterday - I'm in a valley so there is no chance of getting out without a 4x4 - but i got into Ashford to work today & it's OK - heading off soon though and looks like more snow tonight.

I've got a sodding cold at the moment though & I don't want to waste a good stogie and not taste it!
