heads up on the tesco xmas booze offers!!!!

heidseck blue top champagne ?14
tattingers reserve ?18 (i think)
lansen black label ?22
veuve clicquot yellow label ?26

there's also a large bottle of taylors 15yr port for a tenner, as well as taylor's reserve and a ceramic jar of blue stiltion set for a tenner!!!

the spirits offer is pretty crap at the moment, 2 for ?20!!!!

anyway, i hope this is of some use!!! oh, btw, the champagne offer is on till 04.01.2011!!! happy, happy days!!!!

Personally I agree with Big T, Tattingers is lovely and that price is a bonus.

However the missus will 100% want the Veuve C (pretty sure its only a 'name' thing)

I dunno, my wife isn't much for labels or anything, but Veuve does have that "hey, I know that brand, isn't it expensive?" thing going on. Dammit, I'm so indecisive. Maybe I should set up a forum poll

As far as port goes, I'm not really a big fan of Taylors and generally advise people to steer clear of the brand. Give me a Graham's or a Dow's any day.

Saw it in our nearest big Sainsbury's on Sunday for the same price. Was going to pop down today to cash in our Nectar points & stock up for NYE, but unfortunately had to change our planned family celebration as my brother has just come down with flu.

Best value in the Port department IMO is Croft Indulgence half price at ?5.99 from Tesco.com, but possibly available instore (wasn't the last time I visited our local Metro just before Chrimbo, but they've had it at that price in the past).

I'm not a massive Port enthusiast, but that stuff is just gorgeous. I'm 3/4'ers of the way through my 3rd bottle since the summer as it's my current favourite (alcoholic) tipple with a smoke (cigar & pipe).

Majestic have Heidsieck Gold Top Vintage 2004/2005 for ?20 and I am here to tell you it's wonderful. I read on the Jancis Robinson web site that the deal was on until February 1st but the price shown was lower so you might check.
