  • Cigar Events 2011 (Boisdale and 10 Manchester St) what Cigars would you like to smoke

I recently checked on the H&F Cigar Smokers Club to see what events were upcoming for January and February and what cigars were planned. There are three events in the diary but no cigars selected. When I checked it turns out they haven't decided yet but would welcome suggestions from the Forum.

The Behike has been suggested for one event (if there is any stock) so pick a cigar you have always wanted to sample and post it here, nothing to crazy otherwise the prices will be huge.

This is a great opportunity to find something from H&F's vaults that you have always wanted to smoke so if you have a suggestion of what you would like to drink with your cigar add that too.

    The dates/locations are:

    24th January - Boisdale ?25

31st January - Ten Manchester Street - Update Now confirmed Behike 52 paired with an Irish Coffee made with 10 year old Bushmills. Tickets ?40

    21st February - Boisdale ?25

      I wish!

Just put your fantasy cigars out there and lets see what they can do.

HdM Monterrey, yes, fantasy smoke along with a Cohiba A, Partagas Fabulosos and Chuchill de Lux, original Behike, etc..

More realistically I think some of the cigars you see more rarely over here and are not insane money.

        Montecristo Especial No.1

        H. Upmann No.2 with some age on them.

Partagas Culebras, which I had demonstrated to me again recently can be a great smoke.

        El Rey Del Mundo Tainos

RyJ Sir Winston, just because I bloody love it.

          Oooh Ahhh... Can I play?

Ummn... well, here are three cigars (off the top of my head) that I'd be more than delighted to make travel arrangements to sample.

          1. Montecristo No.4 Reserva (A 'T' recommendation from a while back)
          2. A Ramon Allones Phoenicios
          3. Partagas Serie D No.4 Reserva
          (Or if that's a problem, a Partagas Serie D No.1 2004 El)

Not asking for too much... is it?

          Drinks wise?
How about a spot of Ron Zacapa or a (good) vintage champagne?

D1 all gone, I do not think H&F have any stock left, not for a long time. The Phoenicios was never a UK release, small chance. The two Reservas are way too expensive for the ticket price. The Monty was amazing though.

I have just been told that the combination for the Ten Manchester Street event on the 31st January is now confirmed:

Behike 52 (CA Cigar of the Year) paired with an Irish Coffee made with 10 year old Bushmills.

              Tickets ?40

Manchester Street have D1s (the owner bought them at the auction recently). The infamous humidor there has done them no favours with several already split and I did find one good stick to sample!

Two good suggestions Big T. The Montecristo Especial and Upmann No.2 are overlooked by many.

I did spot the freudian slip: RyJ Sir Winston. On that theme, I'd add the Upmann Monarch as a suggestion. There seem to be plenty still floating around.

Sir winston event i'd love to see, or just anything with age from the H&F vaults,
I'd far rather smoke cigars from old boxes then brand new releases which inevitably end with comments "too young to smoke"!

Got to agree with Joe there, H and F crack out some aged smokes (and not just the past-it stuff that needs to be cleared out ...not that anyone would ever do that )
