I think Matt Damon is alright, a good actor. The Bourne films were very watchable in my opinion. As Drewmidorn said it could be worse, it could be Ben Affleck who makes one pile of steaming horse sh*t after another (again only my opinion!)

I agree with all the comments so far, Matt Damon can act a variety of roles well, loved the Bourne trilogy & The Green Zone.

You're right about his directing... and his writing, however I'll be honest I think he is sub early-Keanu-Reeves in the acting department.
