    Hey everyone.

I'm thinking about visiting a friend in Tenerife with my wife in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone has had experience buying cigars out there?

The last time I went about 10 years ago was what really got me into cigars. I have no idea why, as they were the nastiest cheap beetle infested tourist trap cigars I've ever seen, but smoking a cigar there got me thinking about Cuba and how much better a good cigar would be.

Does anyone know of good cigar shops there, as I was thinking with the Spanish being big on Cubans and Tenerife being a tax free zone, it might be a good idea to pick some up.

Thanks Patrick. A friend is lending me a finca and his car so it doesn't really matter where on the island.

Are there any good local cigars? I remember there being lots of dried out beetle infested bundles.

Also - what are the prices like?

I am in Tenerife at the moment.

The best place I have found in the years I have been coming here is a shop called Oscars which is in the centre of Los Christianos. They have a varied selection of new and vintage smokes going back to 2001. You can still pick up the Monte 2001 LE, Cohiba 2003 LE and lots more in between.

The two lads who run the shop do not speak much English and you will not find any of the Spanish RE here either unfortunately.

Prices are certainly competitive and I would stay away from the local smokes, as there are not many good ones that I have tried TBH.

i always enjoy the local Condal range; i think they're decent mild cigars at a good price but i know a lot of aficionads would probably not agree.
