    hey all,
giving a heads up on this one!!! redbreast pure pot stilled irish whiskey!!!

although i'm partial to alcohol in it's many forms (lol, does that sound bad?), i have a particular soft spot for irish whiskey!!! partly because of national pride and partly because i find it smoother than scotch!!!

anyway, i'm not gonna even attempt to give a flavour analysis or anything!!! i'm just gonna say that it is the nicest, smoothest whiskey i have had ever had the pleasure to drink!!! it's slightly cheaper than my usual bushmills 16 year old single malt (redbreast is ?28 in asda, bushmills 16yr old is ?36 in tesco), it gives it a good run for its money!!!

    highly recommended indeed!!!

Mmm, sounds like an interesting tipple there Senor. Well spotted and cheers for the heads up. I'm partial to a drop o' Irish, when considering something other than single malt scotches. Cheers

Bought my brother in law a bottle of this for his birthday, soooo wanted to keep it for myself.
Lo there do I see my Father. Lo there do I see my Mother, and my Sisters and my Brothers. Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning. Lo they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

Bet you never thought you'd hear a Scotsman saying this, but the Bushmills 16 yr old is a fantastic whisk(e)y.

So now that you guys are getting hold of how to make the stuff, you're next lesson is how to spell it correctly.

            According to Wikipedia............

In Scotland, the first evidence of whisky production comes from an entry in the Exchequer Rolls for 1494 where malt is sent "To Friar John Cor, by order of the king, to make aquavitae".[

The redbreast is a bit of a ripper it has to be said, loevly and smooth, slightly too sweet for me but then it is irish and they tend to be... Think this got some sort of crazy high score and irish whiskey of the year or some such in blokeys(!) whiskey bible 2010 I think it was, hence it suddenly turned up everywhere!
