I'm a big fan of The Dalmore and I've recommended this whisky in the past to cigar lovers as it is the replacement in the line up for The Dalmore Cigar Malt.

However I have been questioning lately if it's worth the extra cash over the already excellent 12yo as it's not quite up to the same standard as the cigar malt which now sells for quite a price.

I've have a 1/4 of a bottle of this left in my cabinet and must admit I love the flavour, very smooth with orange peel & hints of cinnamon.

Though having never tried the Cigar Malt or the 12yo I can't give a comparison.

I remember a few years ago, Sainsburys were doing the Dalmore cigar malt for a tenner a bottle. Gutted I never got a few boxes to stash away!

I was drinking the best part of a bottle of this during my holiday last week and in my humble opinion it was worth every penny. How much are they asking for it?

Go for it! a beautiful whisky, IMHO as a dedicated whisky drinker one of the best without paying stupid money...
PS. nice to see more Irish brands making it into my local supply...
PPS. anyone registered as a Dalmore custodian?

                      hey all,
after a phone call on wednesday from the local wine merchant who was supposed to be ordering me this this whisky, informing me that it didn't exist (lol), i ended up ordering from the whisky exchange!!! i also ordered a glencairn whisky glass!!!

well, both arrived today safe and sound!!! all i can say is it was money well spent!!! the dalmore is one of the nicest whiskies i've ever tasted!!! smooth, balanced and very tasty (malt, honey, christmas cake, marmalade)!!! it's now become a 100% addition to the family........

                      cheers guys,

                      alex

Excellent choice in whisky. I picked up a bottle of this at Glasgow Airport back in May on the way back from a trip to Islay. Very smooth and refined.

Had a superb whisky n cigar week in Islay smoking Monte's, BHK's, Hoyo's, Rocky Patel's and Hemingway's, washed down with some great malts including slme great Ardbeg's, Kilchoman, some Bruichladdich's( including there new gin) and my favourite Lagavulin Double matured.

I like the choice in glass also, as far as I'm concerned the only way to drink malt is out of a Glencairn Glass. I'm lucky, the Glencairn factory is about 6 miles from my house' so I never run out of them.

                        Cheers
