Hong Kong cigar scene.

I was hoping to 'pick-the-brains' of any upstanding BOTL who might have recent experience of the cigar scene in HK?

I haven't been for a few years (not since the 'Smoking Ban' came into force in 09), and was wondering what (if any) changes it may have brought.

Also, any pointers to reputable cigar lounges would be most appreciated (preferably ones that allow non-member access and are PCC supplied).

I'm familiar with the 'Cohiba atmosphere' and the 'Divan' but would most interested to hear of any others.

Lastly, and purely from a cigar point of view, is it worth making the trip out to Macau, or are the prices and variety better in HK these days?

smoking ban:

yes, same as the UK, all indoor area are off zone except a few cigar tasting rooms with speical licsenses.

or upstairs 'private clubs' labelled shops.

I have only been to the one in sherarton hotel, quite a big smoking joint by Hong Kong's standard. i love it there but not the 'cost'

I am not sure about marcau, but ordering from reputuable online shops have been my purcashing strategy so far.

Local shops just simply can not match.

if weather permits, always wise to buy local shops and smoke at outdoor bars.

Club Cubano sounds just the job... Kowloon side... and only a couple of minutes from Din Tai Fung! Perfect.

Can't find much about them on the 'web', any ideas on the opening hours?

they used to have a website, but seems that's its no long there.

open 12 noon till late, no smoking joint is open before 10 as far as i know.

bring a few sticks in if i were you. they won't catch you out , just walk pass the green channel!
