  • Best UK locations outside of London?

I know the Cigars Smokers Club has a list of all the supposed cigar friendly venues in the UK, but most places outside of London aren't rated and have no info on their websites.

Where have you been outside of London that has really catered for the cigar smoker? I'm ideally looking for somewhere with an excellent outdoor smoking lounge, not just a beer garden and a cabinet full of hamlets!

And that my friend, is why I never see the family in Essex haha! It seems everytime I go Essex actually every single pub that isnt a wetherspoons is now shut down! Maybe for the best!

Great question thought Tripz, I must admit, I never really hear about anywhere outside of London, however im always traveling about so it will be a great idea to try and get some info on some good locations for when im out and about!

You would always be welcome at the Prince of Wales in Birmingham. Sure its just a pub and not your flashy cigar lounge. But we do offer a comfortable outside area, heated in winter, where you can spend a couple of hours, or indeed the whole evening, enjoying a smoke. I personally am always pleased to meet fellow cigar lovers and always up for a smoke. We do sell cigars but we are not a full blown cigar store, keeping a few sticks more for singles purchase. Today for example we have cigars from Cohiba, R&J, Upmann, Partagas, Montecristo, Por Lorranaga, Padron, Nub, La Aurora, Oliva and a few others for sale. Our location is 118 Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8EE. Thats 2 miles south of the city centre on the A435.

        Regards Keith

I second Kieth here The Prince of Wales is well worth the visit . But if you are looking for a pub in ESSEX then the White Hart Inn at Moreton nr Ongar has an excellent outdoor smoking area and up till recently kept a selection of Cuban Cigars but as most BOTL prefer to smoke thier own then you wont be dissapointed .Good Ales great food and 5 new rooms that provide B&B . Anyone up for an Essex mini Herf ? only 10 mins off the M1 www.whitehartinnmoreton.com

Lets book something in for early September, as my calendar clears up a lot then! Anytime in the first two weeks should be good for me!

There seems to be a fair few of the guys from Essex currently from what I keep seeing, I wonder if this is a trend that's starting to form!

Never used to be the case. The Bell, Horndon-on-the-Hill. Viper, Margretting and Green Dragon, Great Lees kept good cuban selections.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

I think more important is the ambience etc i'm happy to take along my own selection, interesting when we herfed at the Prince how the locals suddenly were buying stogies. If the BOTL smoke at enough different places a trend will develop.

Excellent! I'm working at the bullring over the weekend and have been trying to find somewhere for a smoke on Saturday night, this looks like just the place. The only other place I can find to buy is Hollingsworths, does anyone know how far this is from the bullring or what sort of stock they keep etc? Thanks

i can defo say the prince is a great venue an keith a top host!
i went to hollingswoth the other day and it isnt a bad shop at all, i came away with a short story, hoyo petit robusto and mancudo titen.
not sure how far it is from the bull ring i found it by car, just follow the signs for snow hill station, park in the snow hill multi story and the great westen arcade (where hollingsworth is) is right in front of you.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.
