I was emailed this question a while back, and I thought that I would post a reply on here in case anyone else needed help.

Over-humidification is a very common problem, and usually there are measures that can be put into place to save the cigars. The key is to check the humidity levels regularly so you can spot over or under humidification at an early stage.

To fix over-humidification you should get some cedar strips (can be purchased from a lot of cigar shops or wood mills). These must then be placed throughout your humidor evenly. The cedar will not only impart a great woody taste in your cigars, but will also absorb some of the moisture.

You can add or remove some of the cedar strips until you reach the optimum humidity for your cigars. Cedar strips are usually necessary in non-wooden humidors, where the actual humidor body cannot absorb moisture (e.g. glass jar humidors).

It is important to remember that although you want to save your cigars before it?s too late, you must NOT leave the humidor open. This will cause rapid changes in humidity and temperature, which can damage your cigars beyond repair.

I hope this helped.
