Un- even burn and what causes it?

Another thought, smoking indoors or outdoors? I do find they tend to wander a bit if I'm smoking on a walk and it's a bit windy for example...

I get it now. Thanks for the in depth explanation of what not to do and what to do. Helped me out big time there!

Well lad, if you're talking to a bird, it's a crude comment that seldom works.
But if you're talking about puros, it's the act of placing a few puros in a cigar box outside the humidor for a few days. Several aficionados believe this allows the stick to de-humidify a wee bit which causes the puro to burn/smoke better.

Ahhh this would make a gread deal of sence I keep my Humi at about 70-72% and alot of the sticks burn a little uneven.
I'll try lowering it, thanks for the advice.
Is it worth storing at 70 and taking out and putting in 65% a week prior to smoking?

My stash is at 65 usually, had rose to 68 last couple of days, I put it down to weather fluctiations and as it hadn't reached 70 I wasn't too worried but on the back of what you said I did a calibration test and all is well there
Gonna dry box for a couple days anyhow see if that's it.
Cheers
Anyone else?

What RH are you keeping your sticks at? In the past I've had problems with my wrappers being too wet, dry boxing fixed that so now I try not to let my sticks get above 65%.

Un- even burn and what causes it?
I've noticed that I've had a few uneven burns lately and I'm guessing it's my technique at fault.
All seems well when I toast, nice even glow etc but after half inch or so I'm getting 1 part racing ahead now I'm looking at the way I'm drawing?
I can re touch/ correct etc ok but then she's off again
I'm not that new to this but it's got me wondering?Tags: None
